a.) Fiber optic based image processing scanner

Description:

The scanner designed & fabricated is a monochrome & sheet fed type of scanner. We have made use of a very slow moving printer as scanner platform whose head is replaced by two optical fibers are aligned such that all the reflected rays are captured. In one of the fiber, optical source is launched & the reflected rays from the image are captured an another fiber whose other end is connected to an optical detector. The electrical signals from the detector are amplified and made TTL compatible. These signals are given to computer. The software program first accepts the signal and depending upon their level (0 OR 1) it assigns an appropriate pixel intensity. This program even controls the movement of the scanning mechanism. The programming language used in this project is C.

Description:

This lntranet utility helps students taking an online exam. It starts with the welcome page asking the user Name, Registration Number, Center name, Then, It proceeds with the exam questions. At the end of last question the students are shown a page where it displays all the questions. It shows links to the questions providing student to modify his answers if he wishes.

At the end of the time the total marks scored by the student are displayed. After the completion of the exam time or if the student times up before the time limit, the utility directly goes to the marks page showing, the student, his result.
