CHILDLINE INDIA
FOUNDATION (CIF) AND IMPULSE NGO NETWORK (INGON)
As a premier organization working in the field of children’s issues, Impulse NGO Network was approached by the Child Line India Foundation (CIF), a project of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India in partnership with UNICEF, NGO and the Corporate Sector, to introduce the Childline phone service (1098) in Shillong.

INGON organized a one-day meeting, involving the NGOs, working in the field of social development for women & children, government officials & others at Youth Hostel, Shillong to create a general awareness about Childline and its functions.

Later at the request of Childline India Foundation (CIF), INGON took up a Need Assessment survey (Research) and Resource Directory, compilation to assess whether there is a need to start up Childline service in Shillong.
July 2001
Impulse NGO Network was appointed Support Organization Shillong Chapter of Childline India Foundation. The Staff and Team members underwent training on its programme. Since then awareness and support programmes are being taken up by INGON as a part of Childline (1098) Service.
ACTION AGAINST TRAFFICKING AND SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN (ATSEC) MEGHALAYA CHAPTER

Apart from the other activities, INGON also has been organizing regular counseling sessions for the children under its care programme, Sunshine. More than anything else, these sessions helped INGON team to know about the ground realities of girl child labour in Meghalaya, along with the rising crisis of children especially the girl children being trafficked away from the state to other parts of the country. While INGON started working towards this issue, ATSEC in its National Consultation held at Kolkata, elected INGON as the Convener of ATSEC Meghalaya Chapter. Since then, INGON officially informed the concerned government departments and also through media on its function.
INGON, since then has been approached by several Organizations like Garo Mothers Union & Meghalaya People’s Regeneration Front, Probation Officer Deonar, Mumbai with individual cases of Trafficking and the Organization has been actively involved in solving the cases including rehabilitating the victims by networking with the Directorate of Social Welfare Department, who runs the State’s Special Observation Home for women.
