A versatile harpist, his experience spans solo, concerto, orchestral, chamber, session, pop, background music and West End musicals. He is one of the few harpists working in the field of free improvisation and is widely acclaimed for developing a new and exciting voice for the harp. He frequently performs in festivals across Europe, America and Canada. He is accompanist to the young soprano Charlotte Church, with whom he has performed across the world. Rhodri has recorded numerous CDs to critical acclaim and made several appearances on television, radio and video. Born in Aberystwyth, Wales in 1971, Rhodri has played the harp since the age of seven. He gained a BMus (Hons) from Sheffield University, a Masters from Huddersfield University and a Postgraduate Certificate from Trinity College of Music, London. He has studied harp with Frank Sternefeld, Hugh Webb and Sioned Williams. He teaches harp at The Latymer Music Centre and specialises in improvisation workshops for COMA, universities and music colleges. 1
