He has been playing the violin for 20 years and in that time has played all genres of music ranging from contemporary music to free jazz and improvised music, live and in the studio. His main interest shifted towards contemporary improvised and composed music, as well as indeterminate and graphic scores by Gerhard St�bler. Studies with contemporary composers Emmanuel Nunes, Eurico Carrapatoso and Paulo Brand�o.

The relationship with his instruments is focused in sonic and textural elements.

Electronic music was an early influence on his approach to violin playing, which challenges traditional romantic concepts of the violin/viola through use of preparations and micro tuning. Has created music for films, dance, performance, video, etc. Active in different settings on the Portuguese scene for free improvised music, both as a collaborator and in leading his own groups including many important and creative musicians such as Nuno Rebelo, Carlos Bechegas, Margarida Guia, Pedro Roxo, Bruno Parrinha, Jo�o Macedo, David Rodrigues, Ant�nio Chaparreiro, Marco Franco, Vera Mantero, Jos� Oliveira, Margarida Garcia, Rodrigo Amado, Manuel Mota, Ulrich Mitzlaff, Alfredo Costa Monteiro, Guilherme Rodrigues, Fala Mariam, C�sar Burago, Carlos Santos, Genoveva Fa�sca, Carlos Z�ngaro, Jorge Valente, V�tor Joaquim, Pedro Louren�o, Sei Miguel, Eduardo S�rgio, Em�dio Buchinho, Beatriz Serr�o, V�tor Rua, Tim Goldie, Jeffrey Morgan, Oren Marshall, Gianni Gebbia, Gerhard Uebele, Nicolas Field, Jaime Fennelly, Gregg Moore, John �Sugar� Rottiers, Blaise Siwula, Will Guthrie, Pawel Grabowski, Michael Thieke, Alejandro Novoa, Michel Stawicki, Wade Matthews, Leonel Kaplan, Diego Chamy, Gabriel Paiuk, Barry Weisblat, Joe Giardullo, Jassem Hindi, Taku Unami, Ingar Zach, Masahiko Okura, Tisha Mukarji, Hans W. Workshops with Carlos Z�ngaro, Peter Kowald, Richard Teitelbaum, Jason Kahn, Cecil Taylor, Jeffrey Morgan, Workshop de Lyon, Takashi Kako, Han Bennink, Steve Potts, Evan Parker, Ken Filliano, Eugene Chadbourne, Jorge Peixinho, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Constan�a Capdeville, Iannis Xenakis, etc. Has created the record label Creative Sources Recordings in 1999, wich mainly concentrates on releasing experimental and electro-acoustic music. Performs at festivals all over Europe. 1
