(a/n: ok ok ok.. so I’m pretty
sure that most of us don’t know the twins’ parents’ names! Soooo I made them
up! Also, this chapter is written in blue in memory of my kitty. Cuz he was a
boy. I’m sad. Ok so here’s the chapter.)
On her walked home, Emma passed
the twins’ house. She thought about talking to Benji, but decided not to. He
was in the garage and appeared to be working on the car with his dad. (just a little note: ‘I remember baseball
games and working on the car’ * story of my old man *)
Benji noticed her pass by. “Hey
dad, I’ll be right back.”
“Ok Benj. But this car won’t fix
itself ya know!” replied his dad.
“Yo Emma. Hold up!” Benji called
after Emma as he ran out of the garage down his driveway.
Emma was deep in her thoughts
and didn’t hear Benji.
“Emma!” he called again. He ran
up behind her and lightly grasped her elbow, spinning her around to face him.
(a/n: my friend had to help me word that to where it doesn’t sound like he’s
all rough and stuff! hehe that rhymes.)
“Oh. Hey. Sorry. I was
thinking.” She replied. “What’s up?”
“Umm. I just wanted to say that
I’m sorry I’ve been acting like a jerk lately. I was just sorta jealous that
you’ve been spending so much time with Stephen.”
“I’m sorry too Benji. I’ve
missed hanging out with you guys.”
“Well, maybe we could all hang
out tomorrow.”
“That’d be fun. Just call me in
the morning.” She answered smiling.
“Alrighty then! See ya tomorrow
then?”
“Yup. Later Benj.”
“Bye.”
“Benji, I need your help please.”
Beckoned his father.
Benji and Emma went their
separate ways. Emma got home and found a note on the counter.
Went out for a drink with
some people from
Work. I’ll be home around
midnight.
Love- Dad
It was only 8:30 so Emma took a
shower and got into some pajama pants and a tank top. She put in the movie ‘Rock
& Roll High School’ and got comfortable on the couch.
Meanwhile, back at the twins’
garage, Benji and his dad were cleaning up their mess. With it all cleaned,
Benji went inside and stripped down to his boxers. (you nasty people! He sleeps
in his boxers…. He’s not a freak stripper! lol) He walked down the hall towards
Joel’s room where they occupied themselves playing a baseball video game.
Around 11:00pm, their older
brother, Josh, walked in the front door.
“Where the hell have you been?!”
asked their father. By the tone of his voice, they could tell that he had been
drinking.
“I was out with some friends. I
told mom when I’d be home.”
Their father got up and began
walking down the hall towards the bedroom he shared with his wife.
“Tammy!” he yelled for their
mother.
“Yes Kevin?”
“Why didn’t you tell me where
our son was and when he’d be home?!”
He slammed the door, but Benji
and Joel could still hear their parents fighting. They heard the front door
slam and josh sped away in the family car. He didn’t want to stick around for
his father’s bad mood. The twins heard the door to Joel’s room creak open and
they turned to find Sarah standing there about ready to cry. Joel stood up and guided
Sarah into the room and they all sat on the floor at the foot of the bed.
“I hate when daddy yells at
mommy.” Sarah said as tears welled up in her eyes. Benji wrapped his arms
around her in a hug and Joel wiped away a tear that had fallen.
“So do we Sar.” Answered
Joel. (a/n: I don’t really like ‘Sar’
for short… but oh well.”)
About twenty minutes later, they
heard the front door slam shut again and then heard it reopen to their dad
cursing. He had gone to take a drive but found the car missing. He went through
the door that led to the garage and stayed in there, drinking some more.
The siblings all fell asleep at
the foot of Joel’s bed. Benji was still holding Sarah and Joel had eventually
fallen backwards onto the floor. Kevin stormed back into the house later that
night and was looking for Benji. He went into his room but found it empty.
“Where are you boy?!”
Benji was shaken awake when his
father dragged him by his arm out to the garage. Sarah had woken up from the
jolt and ran out of the room after Benji.
“No daddy! Don’t hurt Benji!!!”
Kevin spun around before
entering the garage and smacked Sarah across the face. “Go to sleep.” He
commanded.
Joel walked out right as this
happened and rushed over to Sarah. She just stood there holding the spot he’d
hit as she watched the door close.
Their mother walked out of her
room; awaken by all of the commotion. She stood behind Joel and put her hands
on his shoulders. As much as they wanted to help Benji, they knew that Kevin’s
mood would only get worse if they were to interfere.
“Clean this up boy!” Kevin
roared.
There were tools all over the
ground. After Kevin had first gone into the garage he had thrown all of the
things that were on the counter onto the floor. Benji was bending down to pick
it all up when his father shoved him, making him fall onto his hands and knees.
He didn’t fight back; he just picked up the stuff and placed it in its
respective spot.
Around 1:30ish am and after
commands to go faster of to move something, Kevin finally let Benji leave as he
sat in a chair in the garage. Without a word, Benji walked past Joel, who was
sitting on the couch, and headed straight to his room, shutting and locking the
door behind him. He sat on the edge of his bed for a while with his head in his
hands and eventually dozed off.
Joel figured that Benji probably didn’t want to talk or be bothered so he went into his own room to go to sleep. Sarah was sleeping in their mother’s room.
R.I.P. Buster! I love you.
