The weekend
had finally come! Emma had hung out
with the twins and Roxi every day after school. She had gotten to know them and
they had gotten to know her better. She had no plans for the day, so far, so
she sat watching Saturday cartoons.
“Nuh uh
Lillian!” came the sound of Phil on the Rugrats.
“Uh huh,
Phillip!” his twin sister replied.
“Dude, this
is the weirdest show.” Emma said to herself.
Flipping the
channels, Emma stopped when she saw Christina Aguilera.
“Ugh! I
swear. What does Benji see in her anyways?! She’s a skanky hoe, wears too much
makeup, and... well she’s just a hoe!” Emma said out loud.
Once again,
she was home alone. With nothing to do, she decided to go through her cd
collection.
“Hmm... Spice
Girls!” she said, pulling out her oldest cd from the shelf.
Sliding it
into her cd player, she put the music on full blast singing along.
Surprisingly, she still knew all the words!
“I’ll tell ya
what I want what I really really want. So tell me what you want what you really
really want. I wanna I wanna I wanna, what I really really really want is...”
Emma sang.
During the
pause at the end of the song, Emma heard the doorbell ring. Turning the volume
down a little, she ran to the door, opening it to find none other than Benji!
“What the
hell are you listening to?!” Benji wondered, as the music flowed out of Emma’s
room.
“Umm...
nothing?” Emma said with a devious smile. She excused herself for a moment and
ran to her room to shut off the music. “So, what are you doin’ here?”
“Well, Roxi
and Joel are out, doing who knows what. So, I was left at home, along. I
figured you wouldn’t be doing anything, so.. I walked over!”
“And what
were your plans after you came over?” she asked mischievously.
“Probably not
what your thinking.” he grinned, leaning against the doorway.
“Aww man. You
don’t wanna play video games?!” Emma said, pretending to feel hurt. She walked
towards the living room.
“Video games?
What? Ohhh right... video games. Got any good ones?” wondered Benji, following
her to the other room.
“Tony Hawk,
baby!” she smirked.
As they
walked into the living room, Benji noticed what Emma had been watching. “Dude!
You’re watching Christina?! I thought you didn’t like her...”
“I don’t!”
she said, turning the channel to play the video games.
The two sat
and played the games for about and hour or two. At 4:30 Joel and Roxanne were
knocking on the door.
“Hey Roxi,
Joel. Come on in.” Emma greeted them.
“Benji?! What
are you doing here?” Joel wondered.
“Ya see. I
came over to play video games. But Emma here, she had other things in mined!”
Benji joked.
“Oh shut up
Benji!” replied Emma as she gave him a slight shove.
“Heh heh
heh...” snickered Benji.
“Well well
well. That’s interesting.” commented Roxi, more to herself than to the other
three.
The four were
just lounging around Emma’s house watching TV. Roxi and Joel were cuddling on
the couch, while Benji and Emma sat on the other couch.
“Hey Benj, we
should head home now. Dad’ll be home soon.” Joel informed his brother around
6:15ish.
“Mmkay.”
Benji said, getting up off the couch. “Later Emma.”
“What? I
don’t get a goodbye Benji? I see how it is...” Roxi said playfully.
“Oh yeah. Bye
Roxi!” Benji said with fake enthusiasm.
They all
walked outside, and after Joel and Roxi exchanged a brief kiss, the boys jumped
over the fence. Emma and Roxi headed back inside.
“So, what
should we do now?” asked Emma.
“No clue. We
could go check out the mall.”
“Alright, how
are we gonna get there though?”
“I could have
my brother take us.” said Roxi.
Her brother,
Blake, was 18 and was pretty cool, for a brother. He didn’t like Joel very much
however. It was the whole ‘nobody can date my little sister’ type deal.
