I bought the Chevelle in June on 1999, at that time it was running but very badly. About five minutes after I drove away from the former owners house, the car overheated and I was forced to halt my mission. Here are a few pictures of the doner car the day after I bought it. As you can see it is a real looker at this stage, and it really smelled good inside, but nothing that a little Squash Air Freshener could'nt take out.

The body of the car is in pretty good condition, there is alittle bit of rust over the rear wheels and some in the trunk. The trunk is going to be removed anyways, so that only leaves me the rust around the upper wheels. There are a few small dents on the driver side but that is the extent of it. I think it will make a good doner car.

As you can see, the interior is filled with all of the creature comforts you might find in a new Cadillac or Lexus. Leather seating, air bags, dual climate control, sqaush air freshener. Just kidding. My car actually had nothing in the way of interior. Except there was one door panel that had been stored in the trunk that was rotting and moldy. Other than that it had carpet, a seat that I covered in blue duct tape, and a suprisingly good headliner. All of the interior is going to be freshened up to stock standards, although it will contain some updates in the way of TRD racing seats, roll cage, and other custom features.

Here is the engine as it appeared before the teardown. I bought the engine from a person in Tennesse in November of 1998. The engine was taken to Top End Performance in March of 1999 for the build up. Yeah I know its almost been a year thats its been in the shop but its ok. At this point (January 2000) the engine is still torn apart but the bottom end should be going together as we speak. Look for a section on the build up of the engine soon, I just need to get somemore pictures of it before I start working on it.
So thats it, thats how it all started. Check out the other sections to see up to date information on the project. And thanks for stopping by. E-Mail Me Here!
