My motherboard now works, as previously stated. The problem that then cropped up, whereing I couldn't keep sound coming out of my computer on a regular basis, has also been fixed. And finally, the errors apparently present in my download of episode 7 (a long way off, I know) have been fixed. Funniest thing -- as originally downloaded, it played absurdly fast on my computer. Not in my editing program, only in my regular video player. I've managed to correct the problem so that it plays normally. Hopefully, this will not affect the video when I overlay the subtitles. If that should happen, I have some ideas for fixing it, but I won't be able to jump that hurdle til I get there.


With all of those complications behind me, I can resume translating as normal. Here's hoping the universe has had its fill for the moment of rendering me utterly incapable of translating.
