Yu-Gi-Oh R : Characters
Principle Characters:
-
-
-
Name: Yakou Tenma
Meaning: Ten (Heavenly) Ma (Horse) Ya (Night) Kou (Travel) (Heavenly Horse, Traveling by Night)
Biography: The Heir to Industrial Illusions and Pegasus's adopted son. He is the mastermind behind the R.A. Project in Yu-Gi-Oh R. Like Pegasus, he is calculating, cunning and deceptive (giving off an almost exact impression of Pegasus's rotten side) but is internally and mentally weak. His parents died when he was extremely young, but he later gained an opportunity to receive fame and fortune when chosen as a candidate for Pegasus's apprentice. Unfortunately, his dueling skills fall short to his brother's, whom he envies greatly.
Deck Type: Apocalyptic Themed Deck (devils, fallen angels, mutants)
Name: Gekkou Tenma
Meaning: Ten (Heavenly) Ma (Horse) Ge (Moon) Kou (Light) (Heavenly Horse of the Moonlight)
Biography: (Name Meaning: Heavenly Horse of the Moonlight) The second of Pegasus's adopted sons, and Yakou's polar opposite. Like Yuugi and Atem, Gekkou shares a similar connection with his younger twin brother and would do almost anything to help him. He seems to represent Pegasus's positive qualities, including his sense of honor, compassion and devotion. Because he had beaten all of the other candidates for the position of Pegasus's heir, he had received the honorary title as "The Perfect Duelist."
Deck Type: Faith Themed Deck (elves, angels, fairies)
Name: Richie Merced
Meaning: (An extention of his name is actually the name of an intel chip; "merced")
Biography: Another one of Pegasus's heir candidates, who had lost to Gekkou during the contest, losing the chance of receiving the position. Because of this, he grew bitter towards Gekkou and joined the underground card professor's guild, eventually earning the number one rank. Because of this, he is entitled to wear the Black Duel Disk, which is equipped with extra special features. His dream is to see Pegasus revived and to raise Gekkou's reputation into the ground.
Deck Type: Redemption Themed Deck (cowboy, wildwest)
Name: Dupre Scott
Meaning: (An extension of his name is actually the name of an intel chip; "prescott")
Biography: Was also nominated as Pegasus's apprentice, but was also defeated by Gekkou. Unlike Richie, he respects that Gekkou had triumphed, but is furious when Gekkou disregards it after he finds out the truth behind Pegasus's intentions. He is rank two of the card professor's guild and also wishes to see Pegasus resurrected. Despite the fact that he knows Yuugi didn't have anything to do with Pegasus's death, he has a burning hatred for him because he defeated Pegasus and wants to crush him into the dust.
Deck Type: Possibilities Themed Deck (aliens, galaxies)
Card Professors:

-
Deschutes Lew: The first among Yakou's card-professors. Eccentric, lively, but also in possession of morals and self-awareness. Has a defensive-based deck with life draining effects.
Tila Mooku: The second of Yakou's mercenaries who is assigned to defeat Yuugi in Kaiba Corporation. Has a Gothic/vampire themed deck based upon the principles of strength and revival.
Klamath Osler: Third in line of the Card Professors, who ends up battling against Jounouchi in the basement. Has an defensive insect deck that falls short when it comes to luck elements in the game.
Kirk Dickson: One of the Yakou's minions who holds extreme disrespect for Yuugi's concerns and friends. Has a machine/fusion monster deck that is heavily focused on overwhelming strength.
Pete Coppermine: A freakish man who is another paid servant of Yakou, and Jounouchi's second opponent. Seems to have a happy-go-lucky nature that shields his nastiness. Has a manipulation deck that takes control of opponent's monsters and cards.
Maico Kaito: An gentle old woman who takes part in Yakou's business only for the admiration of her grand-children. Is in possession of a camouflage/forest deck that hides her monsters and powers them up.
Mendo Chino: A fowl mouthed Yakou follower who only cares for his own personal needs. His deck is a sacrificial deck, which is heavily dependent on sacrificing monsters to gain additional strength.
Willa Mett: One of Yakou's paid mercenaries who fights with Kaiba on the top of Kaiba Corporation. Has a dragon/reptilian monster based deck with additional spell cards that protect and enhance his forces.
Tedd Banias: A Card Professor who is taking part in Yakou's game in hopes of removing his gambling debt. Has a beast themed deck that has advantages in speed and in direct confrontation.
Reiko Kitamori: A meek and childish card professor who gets extremely nervous in battle. Despite her shyness, she is very skilled and almost a prodigy, having only dueled for one month of her entire life. Her strategy lies in defensive tactics and deck destruction.
