i hate to do this, but i really feel i must.

from a submission i received today:

"Yes, I know the subject line is forcing you to cringe."

oh yes, yes it did. and not because it was another submission (i [heart] submission! really!), but because this was the subject line:

contest contribution.

what part of The subject of your e-mail must read: Impact One Act Submission. Any submission without that subject heading will be deleted, unread.  is  unclear? i know i just keep going on and on about following the guidelines, but they are there for a reason (mostly to keep me slightly sane).

i know i'm only encouraging people to ignore the guidelines by being lenient and actually accepting a submission with the incorrect subject heading (which i really shouldn't do as i've been getting a LOT of suspect Spam with similar subjects as the one above), but i'll forgive everyone. for now.
