The most important thing in having an exotic pet is to know EXACTLY what the needs of the pet are Before you bring it home.    Some things to consider are:

          1)  What type of cage it will need?
          2)  What does it eat?
          3)  How hot or cool does the cage need to be?
          4)  What are the lighting requirements?
          5)  Where is a vet that has experience with that animal?
( just in case your new pet gets hurt or sick )

Pet stores aren't always the best place to get this information.  Either because they are anxious to make a sale, or they just don't know what the needs are for some pets.

My advice would be to talk to an experienced Vet or someone who has raised the type of animal and see how they cared for the animal.   Then go to the web and find out all you can about the animal.   This well help you to keep him or her alive and happy.
Please click on the link to the left if you would like to know what NIAD does.

If you can,   get involved.
