Love Denied

As I lay and try to sleep
To my ears begins to creep,
A sad song, sang by the wind
As it softly whispers through the willow.
All the while I toss and turn,
While in my eyes, the tears, they burn.
Begin to flow and soak my pillow.
Quietly outside, heavy clouds ride the wind.
This demon called "my mind" begins to crawl.
While through my tourtured soul the memories spin.
I lay and wonder at what I did to deserve this at all?
Now comes the pain of love denied.
Flashing forth, lighting licks the cloud choked sky, as silent steel beckons me to die.
The first thunder caps collide.
The light briefly illuminates you on my wall.
Vivid visions of love promised, the dream of you standing at my side.
In one final boom it has all died.
The thunder now it fills my room.
For your love my hopes are dashed, the hammer fell, then silence crashed.....
As outside the rain begins to fall.
This poem and the painting above it belongs to a really talented artist. Welcome The Stone Man to my site. I would give a email address to send your comments to but I haven't heard from him in a long time.
