Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding area expects to have at least ten golf courses within a couple of years. The four existing courses in Puerto Vallarta already offer challenges for all levels of players from novice to professional. The three courses that are just a couple of hours away offer challenges and breathtaking scenery that will live on in memory

Future of Golf in Vallarta
The corridor of Puerto Vallarta and nearby Nayarit is well on its way to becoming the most important golf destination in Mexico. In November, 1999, the second annual Governor�s Cup Pro/Am Tournament was held on the Championship green at the Marina Vallarta Golf Course. In December, 2002, the World Golf Tournament will be held here.

Governor's Cup to be played at Vista Vallarta

This year, the Jalisco Governor's Cup Tournament will be played on the two newly opened Vista Vallarta courses, November 10 -12. The courses will be closed as follows:

The Annual Marina Golf Tournament will utilize the Marina Course and both of the Vista Vallarta Courses from December 3rd to the 7th. As a result, all three courses will be closed until 2 PM each
of these days.

Both courses will be closed all day from November 16th to the 19th

Puerto Vallarta to host PGA Tournament
Next year, December, 2002, will see a lot of famous golfers in Puerto Vallarta when the PGA's, SGC's and WGC's World Golf Tournament is held here. With at least 7 fully functional courses by then, PV will be recognized by the world as a golfers dream destination.
