Immanuel Baptist Church was setup in the year 1994. It was through a small number of believer that gather together in a small room of Government LP School Upper Chandmari, Kohima, every Sunday to have fellowship. God answer their prayer and by God's Love in 1997 August , a new place was found in Middle Chandmari. Presently the Church have 130 Active members and associate members of more than 400.
The youth department is also growing every year and so far there are around 150 members in the youth and growing every year. The youth fellowship was started in 1997 with Mr. Ruguolie as the first Chairman. Next was Mr. Metenol, and then Mr. Seyieneizo (two terms). The Youth Chairman presently is Mr. Thieyievizo. Starting from 2003 Youth Director was also installed into the Youth Department and Ms. Pungosule is Present Youth Director.
