A WORD FROM WILLIE

“THE LORD IS SO GOOD!!!
      I MUST BE ON CLOUD #9! ”

It has been a month now that I have served as pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church.  It is so exciting to see so many people so excited about what God is doing in this body of believers.  This has to be one of God’s most precious congregations because of the love and warmth that is shared with everyone.  THE LORD IS SO GOOD!!!  I MUST BE ON CLOUD #9!

It is so exciting to see people greeting one another with warm handshakes and loving hugs.  And it doesn’t matter if you are a faithful member, an occasional attender, or a person who has never attended before.  The people at Immanuel make you feel at home when you walk in the door.  THE LORD IS SO GOOD!!!  I MUST BE ON CLOUD #9!

It is so exciting to see people who don’t want to leave.  The last few Sundays you would have thought that people didn’t care if they even ate lunch that day because they were feasting on the sweet, sweet fellowship of Immanuel.  They were standing around and talking, laughing, and rejoicing in what God is doing here.  It was probably forty-five minutes after the service was over that the people really started to clear out.  You know God is at work when the people don’t want to leave.  THE LORD IS SO GOOD!!!  I MUST BE ON CLOUD #9!

It is also exciting to see the crowds on Monday night visitation.  People are arriving early and can hardly wait to go out and tell people what God is doing at Immanuel.  Just this last Monday night there were nine (9) youth with all of the adults.  We are going to have to move the visitation room to another location because we can’t fit all the people coming.  THE LORD IS SO GOOD!!!  I MUST BE ON CLOUD #9!

It is so exciting to see the children and their families attending.  Our children’s department is growing so fast that we see the need to start our children’s church ministry called “The Harbor.”  Brother Zany and several other church members are working hard putting the finishing touches on “The Harbor” that begins this Sunday.  Wow, THE LORD IS SO GOOD!!!  I MUST BE ON CLOUD #9!

   Love in Christ,  Pastor Willie

MISSION NEED FOR THE CHILDREN
There will be a group consisting of nurses and other medical personnel from the Florence Association leaving on September 26 to go to Romania..  There will also be others who will go to be involved in personal evangelism and children’s work.  Because vitamins in Romania are very expensive and most of the people cannot afford them, the missions group will be taking a large supply of vitamins with them to help with the physical needs of the children there.
A box is in the Office Building designated for collecting vitamins for these children.  If you would like to help with this need, please make plans to have the vitamins at the church office no later than Sunday, August 25, so that they can be crated and ready for the Romania Mission Trip.  Thanks for caring and sharing as we minister to others.

 PRAYER REQUESTS
Each Wednesday night during the prayer service, an intercessory prayer guide is given to those present.  Some of the prayer needs are for God’s leadership for our church as we look forward to the future; prayer for our nation and world peace; prayers of sympathy to those who are bereaved; general needs as in our need for rain and relief from the high temperatures; prayer for students and teachers returning to school; prayer for unsaved family and friends; prayer for Immanuel’s Day Care parents, teachers, and children; prayer for those suffering from health problems; and a special time of prayer for our church members who are  now homebound.  Please join us in prayer.
