The next few days were pretty uneventful. Everyone hung out before school, during school and
after school too! And then one day, there was some excitement. A new person was added to the
group!
"People!" Natalie yelled as her, Amy and a young boy who had somewhat long brown hair and
brown eyes (actually, I'm not sure what color his eyes are ... I've never really looked. Correct me
if I'm wrong, but I think their brown?) who looked to be about fourteen walked to the spot in the
hallway where everyone met before the first class of the day.
"Natalie!" Julie yelled back.
"What up, Julie? Everyone, I want you to meet me and Amy's cousin, Billy. He just moved here
from the other side of town." Natalie said, introducing the young boy, whose name was
apparently Billy.
"Actually, it was more like the other side of frickin' Maryland." Amy added.
"Eh, whatever," Natalie agreed, "anyway, Billy ... these are my friends. There's Ryan, Chris,
Julie, Abigail, Steve, Paul, Anna, Joel, Benji and Kaylei." she pointed to the respective person as
she recited their names.
Everyone greeted Billy and conversation returned to normal again.
"So Billy," Brianna said, "how old are you?"
"Fifteen." he answered.
"So that would make you, what? A sophomore?" Kaylei asked.
"Nah, freshman. I flunked third grade." (Actually, I don't know if he did ... I'm making that up.)
"I see. You seem like a quiet person." Julie commented. Billy shrugged.
"There's no need to be quiet," Benji said, "we're all LOUD!" he exclaimed, shouting 'loud' a little
louder than necessary.
Kaylei cupped her hand over Benji's mouth. "Shut up." she told him. Benji tried to say something,
but instead a muffled sound was heard. "Shh!" Kaylei playfully demanded, looking at Benji and
smiling a but. She suddenly pulled her hand back abruptly while Benji smirked. "He licked my
hand! Here," she said, wiping her hand on Ryan's shirt, simply because Julie was the next closest
person to her besides Benji, "have some Benji cooties."
"I do not have cooties!" Benji said, sticking his tongue out.
"You'd better put that tongue away, or I'm gonna bite it off." Kaylei jokingly threatened
The continued to play fight. "Don't mind them," Brianna said to Billy, "their an odd couple."
Billy just nodded in slight confusion, and the topic of conversation was changed until the bell
rang.
Since they only had seven minutes to get to class, everyone scurried away to ensure they wouldn't
be late. "Benj and I can't hang out after school today, we gotta work on something." Joel
informed Brianna as they hugged goodbye.
"Okay. Call me later tonight then?" she half asked, half told.
Joel nodded. "Alright."
The two kissed quickly and then hurried to class.
