*A/N: Okay, once again .... I live nowhere near Maryland, so I have no idea what the campus of La Plata looks like, so I'm just using my school that I go to now. Onward with the chapter!*

~*~*~*~

School came and went that day, and nothing eventful happened. The next day at lunch though, was differnet. (*a/n: haha! I make it sound like it's going to be some hugely eventful chapter! Well .... it's not!!*)

Everyone met at Briann's locker before lunch, laughing and talking as usual. Brianna was still a tad bit angry with Abigail because of the day before, but she had cooled down.

Walking to lunch, the group for some reason took a different route to the cafeteria and they passed through the quadrant area. On the way, Patty and her group of friends passed by. Brandon called to Patty and she came running up to him, giving him a hug which Brianna thought was a little friendly. She hot Patty a dirty look and walked away.

Her, Kaylei, Abigail and their friends Megan and Amy walekd away, heading for the lunch room. Passing throught the area between the quadrant and main campus, Kaylei spotted Benji and Joel standing there with a few other guys. Kaylei tugged an Brianna's shirt sleeve and told the other three girl that they'd meet up with them later.

Kaylei walked over to Benji, who had his back towards her, and covered his eyes. "Guess who?" she asked, trying to disguise her voice by making it high pitched and squeaky.

Brianna could see the confusion in Benji's face and she began laughing, which tipped Benji off.

"Hmm ..." he said, pretending to be stumped as to who it was, "Kaylei?"

"Lucky guess," she replied.

"Nah, I'm just good like that.:

The guys introduced the girls to their friends Paul, Steve, Ryan and Chris. Brianna and Kaylei stayed and talked to the guys until Brandon approached, him and Patty's arms linked together. "Come on, Anna." he directed her.

Brianna looked at Patty, who was looking at herself in her compact mirror and didn't even aknowledge the fact that Joel was standing there, an then at Brandon. She narrowed her eyes in confusion.

"Come on, Anna." Brandon repeated, anger in his voice. Brianna stood in place, refusing to give in to him

He grabbed her wrist forcefully. "Let's go." he said through clenched teeth, leaving Brianna stumbling for her footing behind him.

Not knowing what else to do, Kaylei trailed behind. Brianna eventually wriggled loose of Brandon's grip and stopped in her tracks. Brandon un-linked his arm from Patty's and turned around to face Brianna. Kaylei, not wanting to get involved, kept walking while Patty stood and watched.

"When I tell you something girl, you better do it." Brandon said sternly.

Brianna was completely dumbfouded and said nothing.

"And you'd best not let me catch you talking to a guy again, or you'll be sorry."

Brianna finally found her voice. "Since when were you a controlling jerk?"

"You know I've never liked you talking to other guys, even if it is those losers." Brandon said, referring to Benji, Joel and their friends.

"Their not losers, and what gives you the right to tell me not to talk to other guys when you've got sluts like her hanging all over you?" Brianna nodded her head to Patty. Some people that were walking by stopped to watch the commotion. Patty was one of the most popular girls in school, and it was a sight when someone like Brianna, who was the complete opposite of popular, stood up and talked crap to Patty's face.

Patty's draw dropped and she batted her eyelashes a few times. "Did you just call me a slut?"

Brianna laughed at Patty's attempt to be threatening. "You heard me. What are you gonna do about it?"

Patty looked around as if she was searching for a comeback. A small crowd began accumilating around the two, and Brianna was still waiting for a response from Patty. What she got instead was a slap in the face. It didn't hurt, but Brianna took a step back from shock. She wasn't expecting that. Before she had a chance to fight back, Patty had already spun on her heel and re-linked arms with Brandon, both walking the opposite direction. The small crowd dispersed, some snickering the Brianna didn't fight back, others praising her for doing what so many other people wanted to do, but didn't have the guts to.
