School resumed the next day. It was like any other day at school, boring as usual. Brianna sat in
her history class, tapping her pencil on the desk as Mrs. Jarman, her teacher, droned on about the
civil war. She began doodling on the grade check she had just recieved when a folded up piece of
paper landed on her desk. She looked around to see who had thrown it, when the kid next to her
pointed at the kid next to him. Hher friend Abigail motioned for her to unfold and read the note.
Brianna did so, making sure the teacher didn't see her.
'How was the concert yesterday? Awesome, I'd expect?'
Brianna wrote down a response. 'Hell yeah! You missed one badass concert! Too bad you
couldn't go.' She drew something that resembled a sad face and threw the note back at the kid
next to her who, in turn, threw the note back at Abigail. This continued for a short amount of
time, the end result of the note looking like this:
'Oh thanks, Anna. Rub it in my face that I couldn't go!'
'No prob, Bob! Nah, I know your name is Abby, not Bob! Heh.'
'Ha, you're funny. NOT. So, it just ended up being you and Lei then?'
'Nope. We went with some guys we met at the mall.'
'Ooh, cuties?'
'Eh, I suppose. Who am I kidding? Yeah, their cute! Twins ... whoo!'
'Does Brandon know? You know how he gets jealous. So these guys are twins you say? Hook it
up!'
'Haha, cant. One's taken ... by Patty. Ugh. And the other one; I think he has a thing for Lei. And
no, Brandon doesn't know. And it's going to stay that way.'
'He's taken by Patty? You went with Benji and Joel?! Ah! Thats gross. I wouldn't be caught dead
hanging out with them!'
Brianna didn't like this little comment from Abigail, so she stuffed the note in her little messanger
bag thing and waited until Mrs. Jarman had her back turned, and flipped Abigail off. She turned
her attention back to her doodling until class ended and lunch began.
After class Brianna headed towards her locker, where she met Kaylei, Brandon and all their
friends everyday, with Abigail hoton her heels.
"Yo, Anna! What was the bird for?" she asked, confused.
"Oh, no reason." Brianna answered sarcastically.
"You're not all pissed off that I said I wouldn't be caught dead hanging out with your little dorky
friends, are you?"
"No Abby," Brianna slammed her locker shut, "not at all."
Abigail and Brianna stood in front of the locker in silence until everyone else arrived. Brandon
walked up and Brianna wrapped her arms around his neck, giving him a 'hello kiss'.
"Ugh, dude! You two are ridiculous!" Mark, a friend of Brandon's said as he turned on his heel to walk away.
