A few days later, Brianna and Kaylei went back to Lithium to figure out a plan of how they could
all go to the concert together. They decided to meet at the mall, and they'd all ride in the car that
Benji and Joel shared.
Today, however, was the day of the concert. Since Brianna, Kaylei, Benji and Joel all had general
admission tickets, they found a spot they liked and sat there making small talk as the show began.
(*a/n: the show isnt at some club ... its at, like, an outside venue type thing, and thats why they sat
down. I'm sure someone wouldn't just go to a concert at a club and plop their ass in the middle of
floor!*)
"So boys," Brianna began, popping an M&M from the bag she had snuck in in her mouth, "you're
twins, eh?"
Benji looked at her and then at Joel. "No shit Sherlock, we're twins?!" he said sarcastically.
"Shut the F up, A hole!" Brianna threw an M&M at Benji.
"Shut the F up, A hole?!" Joel asked quizically. "What, are you afraid to cuss?"
"Nah, just don't want to."
"Lazy." Benji muttered, just loud enough for Brianna to hear.
"Hey Banjo!" Brianna said, purposely screwing up Benji's name and waving a fist in his face. "Do
you wanna die?! 'Cause it can be arranged!"
Kaylei laughed a little. "I really dont know when you got so dumb, Anna. That was the lamest
thing I think I've ever heard you say."
Brianna thought for a moment. "You're lame!"
Joel burst into laughter. "Is that all you can come up with?!" he said, shaking his head.
"You know what, buster?! You can just ..." Brianna paused, "shh!" she finished, unable to come
up with anything better.
"Okay, off the subject of lame-ness ..." Kaylei suggested, getting bored with the topic at hand.
"Dude, I feel like I'm on a blind date or something!" Benji said. "We don't know anything about
you two except your names are Lei and Anna and you work at the movie theater. And, "Benji
jokingly glared at Brianna, "you find my name amusing." Brianna grinned. "I mean, seriously!
We've only talked to you a few times at the mall and, well, now."
"Yeah! What school do you go to? How old are you? What grade are you in?" Joel quizzed.
"Well, Alex Trebek, we probably go to the same school as you," Brianna poked Joel in the
shoulder, "go to. What school do you go to anyway?"
"I asked you first," Joel replied, poking Brianna back.
"Oh no, dont start that, please! It's so unbelieveably annoying." Kaylei demanded.
"Fine, fine! We go to La Plata." Joel informed the girls.
"Ha! Told ya. We go there too."
"I've never seen you two around." Benji commented.
"That's because we're too cool for you!" Brianna teased Benji.
One of those dudes that carry a shelf thing of lemonade and walk around concerts yelling
'Lemonade! Get your lemonade!' walked past the group. The drink cost four dollars (*a/n: thats
how much it cost at warped this year! Ridiculous, I tell you!*), so they all decided to pitch in a
dollar and just save the cup for water in case they got thirsty later. Brianna was the first one to
gulp about half of it down, so while she was drinking it, the rest talked.
"Okay, so we know we all go to the same school. What grade are you freaks in?" Kaylei asked
Benji and Joel.
:"We're juniors. And what about you?" Benji answered.
"Sophomores."
"Hey! My girlfriend is a sophomore!" Joel exclaimed.
Brianna rolled her eyes, something she apparently picked up from Kaylei. "Ugh, Patty."
Joel looked at Brianna, a little confused. "Yeah, how'd you know?"
"She came into the store a few days ago when I was in there talking to Benji. He told me how he
knew her and I called Anna up later that night and told her." Kaylei informed Joel.
"Yeah Joel, and get this. She doesnt 'butter their toast.'" Benji chuckled, using the same phrase
Kaylei had used earlier that week.
"You dont like her?" Joel asked.
"You're very smart." Brianna replied sarcastically. "No, I dont like her. She and I haven't exactly
been on good terms since she moved in next door to me." she growled.
"Oh. Well, why dont you like her? What happened?" Joel probed for answers as to why Brianna
didn't like Patty.
"I dont want to get into it right now. I'll be in a pissy mood for the rest of the night. But I will tell
you this: dont get too attached to her. I've seen too many people get hurt because of her, and I
dont want it to happen to you too." Brianna told him sternly. "And don't think I'm telling you this
because I'm trying to break you guys up 'cause I want you or something, becasue that's not the
case. First of all, I dont like you like that. Second of all, I have a boyfriend. So .... yeah."
Joel was quiet for a moment and there was silence among the four of them for about a minute.
Benji finally broke the small amout of tension and silence.
"So, how about those Yankee's!?"
Everyone looked at him and laughed. "It's not even baseball season, you dork!" Kaylei said. They all talked until the show started, not mentioning Patty or anything that had to do with her for the rest of the night.
