*A/N: I know that when Benji and Joel were sixteen, Vroom wasnt really around, or popular or whatever ... but they are in my story! So, just bare with me here!*

Later that weekend, Kaylei was with her older brother shopping at thte mall. Their dad's birhtday was that Tuesday and neither one of them had gotten him a gift.

As Kaylei walked past Lithium, she quickly peeked inside to see if Benji or Joel were working. Benji was, and he saw her passing by. So he motioned for her to come talk to him.

"Hey John, I'm gonna go talk to someone I know. I'll meet you outside of Sears in an hour, alright? I'll pick up a gift for dad, so you dont have to worry about it." she told him.

John glanced inside to see who this person his little sister was talking about was. "Ugh, you always pick out the freakiest people around for friends."

"Whatever." Kaylei mumbled, walking into the store. "I'll see you later."

Kaylei patiently waited while Benji rang up a customer. He finished and she walked up to the counter so the she was face to face with him.

"Duuuuude!: Benji exclaimed, holding out the 'u' sound. "You'll never guess what happend!?!"

"Hmm, lemme guess. Aliens came down to earth and probed you into their spaceship. Analy." she randomly guessed.

"Gross!" Benji laughed. "Nah, not quite as exciting. Anna came and apologized to me!"

Kaylei's eyes widened. "Anna apologized?"

"Mmhmmm!" Benji grinned.

"The Anna I know?"

"Yep!"

"Oh. My. Gosh. Wow." Kaylei looked genuinely surprised.

"Geez, it must really be a rare occasion for her to apologize."

"You have no idea."

"I guess not."

Kaylei moved aside while Benji helped a customer, and she browsed through the accessories. She looked up when she saw a familiar face enter the store. It was Patty. Patty was Brianna's worst enemy, and Kaylei didn't have very good run-in's with Patty herself. She watched as Benji and Patty talked as if they had known each other better than just customer and employee. Their conversation didn't last long, and Patty exited the store, waving and batting her eyelashes as she went.

Kaylei made her way back over to Benji, who was behind the register again. "So, you know Patty, huh?"

"Yeah. She's Joel's girlfriend. I dont really know her, but she seems nice."

"I'm sure she does." Kaylei commented unenthusiastically.

Benji looked at her questioningly. "You know her?"

"Yeah, unfortuanately." Benji looked at her as if he wanted her to continue. "She lives right next door to Anna and lets just say she doesn't butter our toast."

Benji laughed. "She doesn't butter your toast, huh?"

"Nope. Ya might wanna warn Joel that she's not a very trustworthy person." Kaylei picked up a keychain and read it. "Speaking of which, where is that brother of yours?"

"I dunno." Benji shrugged. "He didn't have to work today. He's supposed to be getting our tickets though. He better get them, or I'll be pissed."

"Ooh, a pissed off Benji ... scary! What concert?"

"Vroom."

"Oh my gosh, this upcoming weekend, right?" Kaylei asked excitedly.

"Yeah!"

"Dude! Me and Anna are going!"

"Really? We should go together."

"That'd be hella cool. I'll tell Anna!"

Benji looked confused. "Hella?"

Kaylei glanced away. "Dont ask. I have no idea."

"I'll be sure not to." Benji smirked.
