*A/N: Ooh! Change of plans!! Okay, I said in my little 'authors note' thing that I posted awhile
ago that I was gonna make the twins' dad never leave. But I got to thinking today, and I also
talked to my friend, and I realized that ... if he never leaves, the boys really have no background to
form a band from. So, since I can't go back and re-write the chapters I've already written
(actually, I can. I'm just too lazy to do it and I got a brilliant idea for the subject too), then
pretend I never said anything about their dad not leaving. 'Cause he will ... just not on X-mas
Eve, but on a later date. Actually, just whenever I feel like writing it in, which will hopefully be
soon. Alright?! Cool.*

"So dudes, where ya wanna go?" Brianna asked as she climbed into the front seat of the twins'
car and starting it up. She had gone and taken her driving test earlier, passing it with ease.
Joel got in the passenger seat, and Benji, who was still a little skeptical about letting Brianna drive
the car, crawled in back with Kaylei. "Oh cheese and rice. This is so nerve-racking. Please Anna,
don't do anything to my car!" he said.
"Dude, Benj! It's my car too. She's not going to do anything, so just shut--"
"Anna! You're going too fast!" Benji complained.
"Benjamin! I am going five miles under the speed limit. Just shut up and stop being a backseat
driver, or I'll purposely run us into a tree."
"Benji covered his eyes with his hands. "Oh gosh, I can't watch."
Everyone laughed at him and Kaylei leaned over and patted his head. "Don't worry Benji, if
anything happens, I know mouth to mouth." she said.
Benji's head snapped up and he looked at her seductively. "Really? Ya wanna, oh I don't know,
practice to make sure you didn't forget it?"
"Oh my gosh! What a lame pick-up line!"Brianna interrupted.
"Hey!" Benji yelled, "pay attention to the road, not us!"
Brianna did as she was told, and the couple in the backseat began 'practicing mouth to mouth.'
They drove in silence for a few minutes, to no particular destination, when Brianna spotted a
group of about sic guys walking on the sidewalk. "Hm, those guys are pretty cute." she admitted
out loud.
Kaylei backed away from her kiss with Benji and looked out the window. "Cute guys? Where?!"
she asked.
"No!" Benji commanded, "no looking at cute guys for you, Anna! You're distracting Kaylei ...
and you're supposed to be watching the road, not looking at cute guys! What are you doing
looking at cute guys, anyway?! Stop!"
Joel looked over at Brianna. "Yeah. What are you doing looking at guys?" he said, pretending to
be jealous.
"Okay, Brandon. Geez. I'll stop looking at them. Don't shit your pants over it."
Although Brianna didn't mean it as an offensive comment, but rather was just subtly pointing out
that that's how Brandon used to act, Joel took offense to it. "Don't call me Brandon." he said
seriously.
Brianna looked over at Joel. "I wasn't being serious. I was just saying that that sounded like
something he would say."
"I don't care. Don't call me Brandon. He acts like my dad, and I act nothing like him."
"Okay, I wont say that again, Joel. I'm sorry." she apologized, reaching for his hand. Joel pulled
back and turned away from Brianna, gazing out the window.
They drove in more silence, still with no destination, for another almost ten minutes. Seeing a Red
Lobster up ahead, Joel told Brianna to turn into its parking lot. She did so, not wanting to upset
Joel anymore than she already had.
"What are we doing here?" Kaylei asked nervously, being the first to break the tension between
the four.
"Eating dinner. It's on me." Joel answered.
"Oh." she said, glancing at Benji. She nodded her head towards the front of the restaurant and her
and Benji made their way there."We'll meet you guys up there." Benji said.
Brianna began to follow, but Joel pulled her back. "Hey," he said softly, winding his arms tightly
around her waist, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you like that, because I know you didn't
mean anything by what you said. And I don't know exactly how Brandon acts, but from what I've
seen, he seems like a possessive kind of person. And when my dad gets drunk, which is quite
often, that's how he is with my mom. And I hate it. I promised myself that I would never, ever be
like that, so I guess I just kind of got defensive when you implied that I was acting like Brandon."
he finished, looking down at the ground.
Brianna hugged him for a minute and then looked at him. "I'm sorry, Joel. I didn't know. But
now that I do, I promise not to say something like that again, okay?"
Joel nodded. "Okay." They kissed (whew! There's a lot of kissing going on in this story!), then
hugged again and walked hand in hand up to the door to meet up with Benji and Kaylei.
The four of them were seated a short time later. They spent about an hour and a half at the
restaurant, eating and talking. Kaylei had told their waiter that it was Brianna's birthday, so she
got sang to by some of the staff and a free slice of cake, which they all shared.
Brianna was allowed to drive home, but this time Kaylei sat in front while the boys sat in back.
Brianna pulled out of the parking spot and waited patiently to make a left turn onto the main
street. There was quite a bit of traffic, so she was a little nervous about turning, and passed up
several opportunities to go. Joel and Benji were too busy chit-chatting to notice that she hadn't
yet gone, but Kaylei, who thought Brianna was wanting to make a right turn, was getting
impatient.
"Anna. Just go!" Kaylei exclaimed, thinking the coast was clear to make a right. Brianna looked
to her left and saw that the light down there had just turned green and the traffic was heading their
way, but figured she could make it to the center lane in time. So with traffic steadily approaching
nearer, Brianna stepped on the gas pedal and turned left into the center lane.
The sudden burst of speed called Benji and Joel to attention and they realized what was going on.
"Shit Anna! What the hell are you doing?!" Benji yelled.
"I don't know!" Brianna screamed as she pulled into the center lane, a car narrowly missing their
back bumper. In a panic, Brianna let go of the wheel and lost control of the car, causing it to
swerve into oncoming traffic. Kaylei quickly reached over and grabbed hold of the wheel, bringing
them back into their lane. Not straightening the car out soon enough, they were sent into the lane
where traffic was traveling the same direction, but at much higher speeds. Brianna sprang back
into action and grabbed the wheel back from Kaylei and returned the car into the center lane,
stopping it there.
"Anna, you can't stop here!" Joel told her.
She somewhat smoothly merged into the lane closest to her. She pulled into the nearest gas
station to let someone else drive since Brianna was on the verge of tears after almost getting into
many accidents, but managing to avoid them all. When she parked, everyone got out of car to
take a breather.
"Wow. I think I just saw my life flash before my eyes," Benji said in wonder, "and then I realized
that it was just the headlights of oncoming traffic!" Kaylei punched him in the arm and told him to
shut up.
"I'm so sorry you guys. I'm so sorry. Kaylei told me to go, so I went. I am so sorry!" Brianna
kept apologizing to everyone over and over again.
After she calmed down a bit, it was decided that Benji would drive. They all piled back into the
car, with Brianna in the backseat with Joel, and they journeyed home safely with a more
experienced driver behind the wheel.
*Another A/N: Heh heh heh!! This chapter was veeeerrrrryyyyy fun to write! The whole making a
left turn into the center lane and almost killing everyone in the car numerous times .... is true!! I
did that once. It was kinda freaky!! Except, I didn't do it just some random day, it was New
Years Eve so I probably looked drunk as fuck driving down the street and swerving every which
way. And I never let go of the wheel, so my friend never grabbed it, but she did tell me to go! So
if we would have gotten into an accident, I would have blamed it on her. And unfortunately ...
Benji and Joel were not in my back seat. Although it would have been hella cool if they were!!
Hehe ... anywayz! Welp, that's it from me for this chapter! Please sign the guestbook, kiddies!*
