"Hey guys!" Brianna said to Amy, Joel, Benji, Paul, Ryan, Chris, Steve, Natalie, Julie and Abigail as her and Kaylei walked up to where the large group of friends met everyday before lunch. It was the second Monday after winter break, and the group had made it routine to meet in a certain spot and then all go off campus for lunch, since their school was an open campus.

"I want to go to McDonald's today! Paul got to pick where to go on Friday, so today is my turn and I want McDonald's" Benji announced to the large group of twelve students.

"McDonald's? Ew!" Kaylei exclaimed. "That is so gross!"

"Leave it to Benji to pick the most fattening place in the history of the world!" Natalie teased.

After much whining and persistence from Benji, it was quickly decided that McDonald's would be the lunch choice of the day. Since Paul had his mothers mini-van that day, he offered to give eight people, which was the maximum occupancy of the van, a ride. The remaining four would ride in Natalie's car.

After all this was quickly decided upon, Brianna and Joel walked hand in hand to the parking lot, where there were more students hurrying the get out of the parking lot as well. As everyone got situated in the appropriate vehicles, Joel leaned against Natalie's car and pulled Brianna to him, wrapping his arms around her waist. They talked for a moment or so when a red car pulled up next to them. The passenger window was rolled down and Brianna saw Brandon's friend Aaron - the only one she got along with - lean his body over the empty passenger seat and poke his head out the window.

"Hey Anna," he said to her, "come over here, I wanna ask you something."

"Alright," Brianna shrugged, telling Joel she'd be back in a moment. She walked around the car and to the drivers window. "What's up?" she asked Aaron.

"Nothin' much. Just heading out to lunch. What about you?"

"Waiting for my friends to get situated so we can go to lunch too."

"Sounds like fun. Who's that guy you were with?" Aaron questioned.

"Why?" Brianna questioned back.

"Just wondering. I haven't seen you and Brandon together. He's been with Patty a lot. I was just wondering what happened with you two?"

Brianna was a little hesitant to answer. She seemed a little suspicious as to why Aaron was asking her, and not Brandon, these questions. "I broke up with him over winter break. Didn't Brandon tell you that?"

Aaron shook his head. "Nah, he didn't say anything about it. So that dude is your new boyfriend, huh?" Brianna nodded. "How long have you guys been going out?"

"Since New Years day."

"Cool, cool."

"Yeah."

"Anna, come on! We gotta go!" Amy yelled from the passenger seat of Natalie's car. Brianna and Aaron said goodbye and went their separate ways.

As they were exiting the parking lot, Brianna caught a glimpse of Aaron talking to Brandon, who was with some of his friends. She wasn't sure what exactly Aaron was saying, but she did catch the glare that Brandon shot at her. She turned back around to face the front of the car. 'Crap,' she thought to herself, 'I think I just said too much.'
