"'Ice ice baby ... duh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh!" Brianna and Kaylei walked to Kaylei's locker Monday morning, singing the classic Vanilla Ice song, 'Ice Ice Baby,' which was playing on the bus when they stepped off.

"Ya know what I just realized?" Kaylei asked thoughtfully.

"What's that?" Brianna wondered.

"You're wearing pajamas. You freak."

Brianna laughed. "Of course I'm wearing pajamas! It's the last week of school before winter break, and I feel like being lazy." Brianna, indeed, was wearing pajamas. Not so much a pajama ensemble, but just a pair of pants. She wore her favorite ones; they were light blue with itty bitty purple stars and flying bear looking things with with purple wings littered with yellow-ish dots. Some of the bear things were smiling, and some were flying away so you could see their butts. (*a/n: hehe, I have those!*) Brianna always got a good laugh out of these flying bear creatures, and thats why they were favorite pair of pajama pants!

Kaylei and Brianna stood in the hallway in front of their first hour, the only class they had together, talking about all the plans for the two week vacation.

"My mom and her boyfriend are driving down to Virginia to visit a friend the day after Christmas, and they're leaving me the house for an entire week. Whoo!" Brianna announced to Kaylei.

"Dude! We should throw one hell of a party on New Years Eve!" Kaylei exclaimed.

"Did someone say party?" asked Benji, as he walked up to the girls with Joel following.

"Yeah. We're gonna ahve a wicked party while my parents are in Virginia on New Years Eve!" Brianna told him.

"Hey! Did you know that the word 'virgin' is in Virginia?!" Benji said, as if he was amazed by that.

"You're dumb!" Joel remarked, "are we invited to your party?!" he asked.

"Actually, there probably wont be a party. We were just kidding." Brianna informed him.

"Yeah, we're dumb like that." Kaylei chimed in.

"'Cuz I'm dumb like that. Oh, and all the words -" Benji began singing Vroom's song 'Dumb Like That' when he was cut off by Kaylei.

"Shut up. You guys can come over and just hang out or something though, if you want."

"Oh sure, no problem! Just invite complete strangers to my house, Lei!"

"We're not strangers!" Joel whined.

"I was kidding, you dork." Brianna said.

"You like to call people names, don't you Anna?" Benji asked.

"As a matter of fact, I do!"

Everyone laughed and began talking again. A short while later, Brandon approached, with his arm around Patty's shoulders. Patty was wearing her cheerleading uniform and her platinum blonde hair was pulled up in two ringlet-y pigtails, held by silver and navy blue (*a/n: I've got no idea what the school colors of La Plata are, so if those are wrong .... sue me!*) ribbons, and her ocean blue eyes were highlighted with purple sparkly eyeshadow.

"Oh great, here come the devil children." Kaylei murmured.

"Anna, I'm giving you a ride home today. Meet me by the flagpole after school." Brandon directed. Brianna could tell bu the look on his face that he wasn't happy with her.

"Enjoy the announcements today!" Patty waved sarcastically as her and Brandon walked away. She blew a kiss to Joel and rolled her eyes, obviously not meaning it.

"What the hell was that about?" Benji asked Joel.

Joel shrugged. "I dunno. I guess we'll find out when announcements come on, huh?"

"Guess so." Benji said.

The bell rang and Joel and Benji split, but not before getting goodbye hugs from both the girls.

"Dude, it's a good thing Brandon didn't see that," Brianna commented to Kaylei as they walked into the classroom, "he'd shit a brick!"
