"Hi, what can I get for you today?" Kaylei smiled at the next customer that came to her register.
Both girls were spending their Saturday at work, selling drinks and popcorn in concession. This
weekend had been particularly busy, mainly because of the new James Bond film that had just
come out. The set (*a/n: for those who dont know, a movie theater tends to start all their movies
within an hour or so of each other, so it's more organized. And that hour or so when all the
movies start, my friends, is a set!) Was just coming to a close, so there were still quite a few
people waiting in line for snacks.
Brianna and Kaylei were working on two separate registers, with one being unused in between
them. When there was no one in line, they would converse.
Brandon, who had just gone on break, had entered concession and saw that there was only one
person in Brianna's line, so he came up behind her, pretending to look at her register. "I need to
talk to you." he whispered.
Brianna turned around to pour the drink and retrieve the popcorn for the guest. "I dont want to
talk to you. I'mstill mad at you for earlier this week."
Since she was in range, Kaylei listened in on the conversation.
"Come on," Brandon said, following Brianna around, "I didn't mean to make you mad. I didn't
think that me talking to Patty would make you mad."
"Not right now, Brandon." Brianna said, handing back the customers change. As soon as she
closed her drawer, Brandon grabbed Brianna's hand and led her towards the back hallway, where
the coke boxes were stored.
"Anna, please dont be mad. I honestly didn't think."
"Well, that was obvious. And about what you said earlier, you weren't just talking to Patty, your
guys' arms were linked together just a little too friendly-like. And what was with you walking
away with her after she hit me?"
"I don't know." Brandon replied, looking down at the floor, "I'm just really sorry about what
happened that day. If it helps, I haven't seen or talked to him Patty since that day."
"No that doesn't help, but whatever."
"So, do you forgive me?" Brandon looked back up at Brianna apologetically.
"I guess." she replied, beginning to walk away.
"Hey." he said, catching her hand and pulling her closer, "promise?"
"Yes."
"You don't act like it." he wrapped his arms around her waist. She looked at him and gave him a
quick peck.
"Is that better?" she asked, somewhat still angry.
"A little." Brandon pouted a small bit.
Brianna sighed and leaned in, kissing Brandon a little deeper than last time and pulled away.
"There." she stated, returning to her register.
Walking out towards the lobby, she noticed it was pretty much empty, except for a few customers
here and there. Kaylei immediately rushed to Brianna's side. "What was that all about?"
Brianna laughed at the excitement Kaylei had gotten in asking that question. "You nosy butthead!
He just apologized for Tuesday, or whatever the day was when the Patty thing happened."
"Psh, that's not exciting."
"Well, then why'd ya ask?!" Brianna laughed.
"Eh, I dunno. Kaylei replied as someone on the other side of the counter loudly and rudely cleared
their throat.
"I demand service!" the person practically shouted, banging their fist on the counter. Both girls
turned their attention towards the 'angry' customer and laughed when they saw it was Joel and
Benji standing there. It was Benji who had demanded service.
"You morons! You spent money on those tickets?!" Kaylei joked.
"Well, I'm sorry we don't have the pleasure of getting free tickets." Benji said with a fake
attitude.
"Your a smartass, ya know that? I dont know if I like you anymore." Brianna pointed a finger at
Benji, pretending to be serious.
Joel laughed. "Haha, I like you 'cause you hate Benji."
"What if I said I hated you too?"
Joel thought for a moment and then pouted. "I'd cry."
"Aww!" Kaylei squealed, pinching Joel's cheeks together between her thumb and forefinger,
"how can you not resist that face!"
"I'm just messin' with you, ya loser!" Brianna informed Joel. "Anyway, Lei and I will have to
treat you two to a free movie one day. It'll be payment for giving us a ride to that concert."
"Alright!" Benji exclained almost too excited.
The twins ordered the food they wanted and talked to Brianna and Kaylei for a few minutes longer. Little did Brianna know, but Brandon had seen her and Kaylei talking to Benji and Joel, and he didn't like what he heard.
