| What: "Simon Says" Why: Many childhood games are great for learning, listening, and building skills because they combine fun with learning. The important thing is to keep children from becoming embarrassed, humiliated, or made to sit out because they are a "loser". How: Play the game of "Simon Says" with as many variations as you can. From our neighborhood, we have a great view of Los Angeles/Long Beach Harbor. We sit and play, "Simon Says to find..." On this day, Simon said to point out a blue house, a port-o-potty, a red car, an American flag, a FedEx truck, and a sprinkler that was turned on. It turned into a kind of scavenger hunt, and the kids had a lot of fun with it. And they were all WINNERS! |
