Lies
The lies he told, they hurt her ears.
Such lies as those she'd heard for years.
"Her beauty he could not deny",
"He loved her though he knew not why."

He always lied, he knew no truth;
She saw through him, though she was no sleuth.
"I love you truly, deeply" He said;
Even as she knew in his heart, love was dead.

He could not speak the truth to save his life,
His lies so creul, like a twisting knife.
"He's done this before", to herself she did think.
He had driven her almost past the brink.

He'd said he loved her, then hurt her to the core.
He used up her heart, then threw her out the door.
Now he expected her to open her heart and let him in,
Forgive and forget and let him do it again.

She won't fall again, she won't allow it.
She hopes she made him hurt, that his hearts an open pit.
For that's the way he had made her feel,
When he lied after she had fallen head over heels.
