8.01 – Shower Power
Bart and Lisa have been left with Grampa, whilst Homer and Marge go on a second honeymoon. Lisa, however, has taken a sudden disliking to Grampa and no longer wants to be around him. With less promise of candy and gifts, Bart tries to find the source of Lisa’s problem with Grampa, later discovering that he desperately needs a shower.
8.02 – Rising Sunday
After Bart is kicked out of Sunday School, Homer and Marge decide to teach him about religion. Bart enjoys hearing several Bible stories and becomes fascinated with Christianity, later deciding to hang out with Rod and Todd more often. Homer, however, begins to fear that the Flanders’ are tearing Bart away from his family and tries to get him back.
8.03 – Burn Babies Burn
A day at the beach turns into a disaster when Homer forgets to put sun block on Lisa and her arms become badly burnt. Inexperienced in this area, Marge seeks advice from Dr. Hibbert, who later accuses Homer of being an incompetent father. Bart, meanwhile, sets out to get sunburnt after becoming jealous of how much attention Lisa is getting.
8.04 – Marge Gets Cut
Chloe Talbot has come back to Springfield, and as a successful journalist, she wants to cut the “unimportant” people out of her life - unfortunately, this includes Marge. When Marge finds out Chloe’s intentions, she becomes determined to crawl her way back in. Back at home, Homer baby-sits the kids, but is vexed to find that they prefer Marge to him.
8.05 – The Devil’s Drain
Bart becomes paranoid about getting sucked down the drain during baths, forcing Homer and Marge to seek help from a psychiatrist. When Bart loses his favorite toy, a Krusty doll, down the drain, he develops a phobia of water. Lisa, meanwhile, is left with Grampa until Bart’s problems have been sorted out and surprisingly ends up having a good time.
8.06 – XXX Marks the Spot
After Bart comes across Homer’s secret porno stash, Marge insists that he talks to him about it. Bart is unable to understand the concept, so Homer lazily gives up. However, further problems ensue when Bart starts handing out the magazines to kids in Evergreen Terrace, and many outraged parents are looking for the “scoundrels” responsible.
8.07 – Doctor Who, What, Where
Homer feels guilty after inadvertently dropping Bart on his head, and tries to hide the truth from Marge. However, this isn’t easy when Homer discovers Bart has amnesia. Enlisting the help of Dr. Hibbert, Homer becomes determined to get Bart back to normal before Marge finds out. Meanwhile, Marge’s intuition is kicking in, making her feel concerned.
8.08 – Beer Factor
Homer is vexed to find that his old manager on the golf course, Jack Redwood, is back in town and has recently become an alcoholic. Marge, noticing his odd behaviour has an effect on Bart, convinces Homer to help Jack overcome his addiction. But, Marge is furious when they end up getting drunk together and angrily kicks him out of the house.
8.09 – The Death of Grampa Simpson (#100)
Homer and Marge are away for the weekend, leaving Grampa to baby-sit the kids. However, when he unexpectantly falls ill, Bart and Lisa mistakenly think it is their fault and decide to take good care of him. But, further problems ensue when later that day, they come to believe that Grampa has died and desperately try to contact their parents.
8.10 – Bar Wars: Episode VI
In the final episode of the “Bar Wars” saga, Moe’s Tavern is due for a health inspection, so he desperately tries to get the bar up to standards. However, problems inevitably ensue when he discovers that Lionel Hutz is the new inspector, and has had a grudge with the place ever since the lawsuit business a year ago, so Moe enlists the help of Homer.
8.11 – Severe Fire Damage
Homer and Marge are vexed to find that Bart has been blamed for a fire in the kitchens at the Springfield Day-Care Centre. Bart is, in fact, innocent, but nobody, not even his parents, believe him. Upset, Bart considers turning over a new leaf and putting an end to his prankster ways, but his true personality soon takes over, making him go crazy.
8.12 – Kill Bill Sharpton (1)
Bill Sharpton is finally out of prison, and desperately wants revenge on Homer and Barney for sending him there in the first place. With no other option, Homer is forced to leave his family and go on a witness relocation program with Barney. However, Sharpton then takes Marge, Bart and Lisa hostage, demanding that Homer and Barney come back or else.
8.13 – Kill Bill Sharpton (2)
Homer and Barney are forced to return to Springfield in order to spare Marge, Bart and Lisa’s lives. They soon discover that Bill Sharpton has acquired a murderous weapon and plans to kill them both, so Homer has no choice but to pack up his family’s belongings and run away with them. However, he feels guilty afterwards when Barney is wounded...
