3.01 – The American Revelation (1)
Just as the verdict is about to be read, gun shots are heard and Mr. Roland is found wounded. Homer and Barney arrive on the scene, and when a gun is found in Barney’s coat pocket, the duo are immediately arrested. Homer and Barney must now prove their innocence, but Homer is horrified to discover that even Marge doesn’t believe them. Finally released on bail, Homer and Barney come across Bill Sharpton – newly released from Springfield Penitentiary. They realise that Bill was responsible for the shooting and originally planted explosives on the golf course. Homer and Barney stand still, shocked by the revelation.
3.02 – The American Revelation (2)
Bill Sharpton pulls out a gun and shoots at Homer and Barney, the bullets narrowly avoiding them. Luckily, the police arrive on the scene and Sharpton is immediately arrested. Homer and Barney are declared innocent and Barney’s gun is confiscated for safety measures. Arriving at the hospital, Homer is horrified to discover that Mr. Roland, his trusted boss, has passed away. Sharpton, meanwhile, is given a 10-year prison sentence but swears revenge on Homer and Barney. Marge apologises for Homer for not believing him before, and they commence preparations for Mr. Roland’s funeral in a few weeks.
3.03 – The Man With the White Lawsuit
Hired construction workers are making their finishing touches on the renovation of the golf course. Homer, the replacement of the deceased Mr. Roland, worries about a lawsuit when one of the workers is injured by a falling piece of building equipment. Along with Barney’s help, Homer becomes determined to get out of a possible lawsuit, only to realise he has a fear of returning to the courtroom due to Mr. Roland’s unexpected demise. Later that night Homer finds comfort with Marge and they spend a romantic evening together in the newly renovated golf course. Homer realises he needs to overcome his fear and enlists Marge for help.
3.04 – Great Expecting
Marge drops a bombshell at Homer’s birthday party when she announces she is pregnant from a recent romp on the golf course. Homer has trouble dealing with this revelation and decides to attend an “expecting fathers” support group at the YMCA. He is horrified to discover he has accidentally signed up for the wrong class, a support group for gay couples who are having trouble adopting. Homer must now get out of the class but realises the only way to do so is to overcome his problem with fatherhood. Meanwhile, Marge enlists the help of a reluctant Chloe to break her news of pregnancy to her parents.
3.05 – Suddenly Suing
Marge needs a well-paying job in order to raise the baby. She quits her job at the Gulp ‘n’ Blow and gets one working alongside Moe Syzlack at Moe’s Tavern. At first she enjoys the job, but is horrified when Moe starts flirting with her and wants to go all the way. A furious Marge decides to give Lionel Hutz a call and sue Moe for all he is worth, but has trouble keeping up the charade when she realises she isn’t doing it for her principles, it’s all about the money. Hutz must now formulate a plan, quick, but Marge decides to put an end to the lawsuit when she realises Homer has talked to Moe about everything she is uncomfortable with.
3.06 – Are You There God? It’s Me, Homer
Homer turns to religion after almost crashing on the way home from the golf course. Marge is soon getting tired of his new persona and becomes determined to get the old Homer back. Trouble arises when Homer promises that Jesus and God themselves will appear in the Springfield Square on Saturday at midnight precisely. Marge, along with Barney, must protect Homer from a large variety of angry Christians, who will do anything to get what they want. Homer finds himself resorting to cowering in the apartment block basement as he questions his religion. Finally, he returns to his old self, as the Christians slowly back away.
3.07 – Fission: Impossible
Homer realises that to raise a child he will need to find a better-paying job. Now, he is faced with the prospect of leaving the golf course. After a tearful goodbye with his fellow employees, Homer looks into getting a job at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. He fails the interview almost instantly and is ultimately left without good income. Marge finds herself working extra hours at Moe’s Tavern to pay for food and the apartment’s rent, but soon she and Homer are forced to move back in with the Bouviers. Homer, feeling sorry for Marge, sets out to get a second interview and blow the interviewers away.
3.08 – It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Homer
Homer finds himself losing his temper on his first day at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. He is advised by another employee to attend an anger management class or else lose his job. Homer is quick to enlist in one at the Springfield YMCA and the class soon gets underway. However, even there, he manages to lose his temper and realises he is the worst one there. Finally, he is forced to visit a psychiatrist and is horrified when he analyses that Homer is still nerved about becoming a father, and the anger is caused by this. Homer is now determined to overcome these feelings, to stop his anger, and ultimately keep Marge happy.
3.09 – The Funeral of Mr. Roland
Mr. Roland’s funeral is approaching and Homer must write a eulogy about his boss. He worries about disappointing Roland’s relatives when he is unable to think of anything to talk about. Finally, at the funeral, he gives a shameful eulogy and is immediately disbanded from the funeral arrangements. Marge feels sorry for Homer who was unable to grieve over his deceased boss with others. When the funeral comes to an end, Marge takes Homer to the cemetery so he can say a proper and dignified goodbye to Roland. Homer thanks Marge for doing this and they return home, ready to continue the rest of their lives together.
3.10 – Bar Wars: Episode I
Marge realises that to keep her job at Moe’s Tavern she will need to drive customers away from the newly opened bar across the street. After being unable to sway them with words, she resorts to lying that she is a heavily pregnant single mother-to-be who is in desperate need of money. This sends potential customers on a guilt trip and they start visiting Moe’s again. However, when Homer accidentally blows Marge’s cover, Moe’s Tavern faces being shut down for fraud. Homer is now determined to keep Moe’s open but is distraught when he discovers the lie Marge has been using to get customers.
3.11 – Homey Loves Margie
Marge is worried when she realises Homer hasn’t told her he loves her for a long time. Marge confronts Homer about this and he is distraught when he realises he is unable to say it. Troubled, he seeks advice from a YMCA support group and realises he is still nerved about fatherhood. This being the third time, Homer must resort to drastic measures to prepare for a child and ultimately express his true feelings for Marge. He is put up to the ultimate test, in which he must baby-sit a young child for a full two weeks. When the fortnight is up, trouble arises when Homer refuses to hand over the child as he has grown to love him.
3.12 - Everybody Loves Radiation
Charles Montgomery Burns faces a dilemma when he realises a meltdown is underway and anybody who is sent to fix it is likely to die of radiation poisoning. Homer decides to step up as the town’s hero, unaware of the consequences. When a heavily pregnant Marge discovers the situation, she rushes to the nuclear power plant and furiously tries to get to Homer and warn him. However, trouble arises when her water breaks on the streets and she wants nothing more than to get Homer to safety. Finally, the meltdown is averted and Homer is told about Marge’s water breaking. He rushes to the hospital with Barney on tow.
3.13 – Car from the Madding Crowd
Marge is rushed to the hospital and realises she will be in labour for a long time. Homer, meanwhile, is still driving to the hospital with Barney and they are suddenly involved in a minor car accident. Barney gets out scratch-free but Homer has a nasty bump on the head and needs to be checked out at the hospital. As the doctors examine his injuries, Homer wants nothing more than to get to Marge before she delivers the baby. However, he is distraught when he realises that he is all the way at the Shelbyville hospital. Abandoning the examining doctors, Homer hops into the car, praying to get to Marge in time.
