I Married Marge - Season 1 Season 1

1.01 – Pilot

Newly-weds Homer and Marge move into an apartment on the outskirts of Springfield together. Homer has gotten himself a job at the Springfield golf course, whilst Marge works at the popular café, Gulp ‘n’ Blow. Homer begins to worry that he and Marge are unable to afford rent and is willing to resort to drastic measures. Advised by an untrustworthy employee at the golf course, Homer looks into an insurance scam. Chaos ensues when the police arrive on the scene and Homer is arrested for insurance fraud. Whilst Homer awaits his trial, Marge wants nothing more than for her husband to apologise.

1.02 – An Affair to Forget

Marge begins to suspect that Homer may be cheating on her, and looks into the allegations with Chloe. Meanwhile, Homer manages to suffer a blow to the head whilst working on the golf course and comes down with a case of amnesia. Driven home by a co-worker, Homer even forgets who Marge is. Marge, on the other hand, is still investigating with Chloe and comes across Carol, the woman she believes Homer is sleeping with. Confronting him about this, Homer’s amnesia causes confusion and he believes that he is sleeping with Carol. When Homer’s memory finally returns he realises he has a lot of explaining to do.

1.03 – At Home With the Bouviers

Marge and Homer are evicted from their apartment when they can’t afford rent. With nowhere else to turn, they move in with the Bouviers. Marge’s family still hasn’t taken a liking to Homer and soon their living situation turns into a disaster. Homer, meanwhile, notices how upset Marge is getting over this and decides to change himself, for her, and her family. Marge, on the other hand, dislikes his new personality where as the Bouviers adore it. Homer must now choose between first impressions or his steady relationship with Marge. Finally, he picks Marge, and realises he will have to accept the fact that the Bouviers hate him.

1.04 – Looking for Apartments in All the Wrong Places (1)

Homer and Marge are in desperate need of a new, cheaper apartment. Homer looks into getting a raise on the golf course but is unexpectantly fired by his grouchy boss, Mr. Roland. Marge, meanwhile, is busy looking for apartments, but after hearing news of Homer being fired, she realises they will have to stay with the Bouviers. Homer, who is totally against this, is determined not to give up and finally finds a job alongside Marge at Gulp ‘n’ Blow. However, Homer discovers this job comes with a price when Marge, a superior, lectures him after doing something wrong. Homer then realises his problems are far from over.

1.05 – Looking for Apartments in All the Wrong Places (2)

Not only is his living situation in crisis, but Homer must also deal with his spiralling relationship with Marge. Homer decides to break the silence and apologise. Marge accepts and they agree to continue looking for apartments again. Homer realises he will need a better job and quits the Gulp ‘n’ Blow. After getting laughed out of several interviews, he resorts to begging Mr. Roland. Homer gets his job back but is still in desperate need of a home. He is happy when he realises that Mr. Roland is willing to let them lease his apartment whilst he is away on business for the next year.

1.06 – A Menace to Sobriety

Homer destroys an expensive set of clubs at the golf course after getting drunk. He is instantly fired by his new manager, Jack Redwood. Homer realises that to get his job back he will need to give up alcohol for good. When Marge catches him smuggling beer into the apartment she takes it off of him and demands that he goes into re-hab. Two weeks later, Marge visits Homer and is horrified to discover he isn’t making any progress. What he is doing, however, is taking advantage of the on-site facilities. Homer, learning that he has disappointed Marge, decides to do whatever it takes to give up beer if only for her.

1.07 – My Boss is a Murderer

Homer finds a skeleton in the attic of Mr. Roland’s house, and believes his boss is a murderer. Along with Barney, Homer looks into the allegations and a fully-fledged investigation ensues. When Homer learns that Mr. Roland is in town for the weekend, he worries that he will be the next victim. Homer decides to go into hiding but Barney has trouble keeping up the charade and accidentally blabs Homer’s whereabouts. Unable to hide any longer, Homer makes a break for it, leaving Mr. Roland both angry and confused. Meanwhile, Marge worries that her job at the Gulp ‘n’ Blow is making her gain weight.

1.08 – The Golf War

Homer is excited when Jack Redwood hires him for extra security in preparation of a visit from the US president. Trouble arises when the media somehow get word of the visit and start crowding the golf course, attempting to take snapshots. Homer is instantly blamed for this and dismissed of his duties. Homer is now determined to get revenge on Jack Redwood – but his plan backfires when Redwood accidentally whacks the president on the head, hard, with a golf club. Redwood is wrongly arrested of treason – leaving Homer feeling guilty. Homer must now save Redwood from an unlikely fate without arousing any suspicion.

1.09 – Gone Withdrawal the Wind

Homer accompanies Jack Redwood and the rest of the golf course team to a conference in New York. On their arrival, Homer is already beginning to miss Marge and worries that he has developed withdrawal syndrome. Homer becomes determined to ditch the conference and get back to Springfield – but realises that if he is caught, his job will be in question. Homer decides to make a break for it but worries when he realises that Redwood is on his tail. Redwood is now desperate to catch up with Homer a la Catch Me if You Can, in order to perform the golf course’s final and very important presentation.

1.10 – The Initiation of Marge

Homer is furious when he is refused membership in the employee’s golf club and becomes determined to impress the other upper-class members. Trouble arises when Marge is given a place in the club instead, and attends the initiation. Homer now wants to put a stop to it – exclaiming if he can’t join, Marge can’t either. An angry Marge goes to the initiation anyway and Homer quickly catches up with her. He puts an immediate holt to the ceremony and makes a complete fool of himself. When the other club members sneer, Marge apologises to Homer for being so firm and they agree to go back home and never mention it again.

1.11 – The One With the Comedic Situation

Troy McClure is appearing on the famous public access show, Tonight With Kent Brockman. Homer, a big fan of Troy, decides to get a job working backstage on the show. Trouble arises when Homer manages to upstage Troy and gets the role Troy had been hoping for on a new sitcom. Homer must now choose between a potential (and well-paying) career or the sake of his hero, Troy. Meanwhile, Marge and Chloe go for a night out and Marge is furious when Chloe ditches her to spend the night with a guy. Aggravated, she joins a group of crack addicts for the evening but worries she might be coaxed into the nasty habit.

1.12 – Mr. Roland is Comin’ to Town

Realising that Mr. Roland could be back any day now, Homer and Marge begin searching for another apartment. They are faced with the prospect of leaving Springfield. Homer looks into an upper-class house in the lake retreat of Oakwood Springs. Marge, however, is totally against leaving Springfield and refuses to make an offer. Trouble arises when Mr. Roland phones them up and explains he will be back within 48 hours. Homer and Marge are now desperate more than ever to find an apartment or else be homeless once again. Soon they have no choice but to live with a family member and they move in with Abe.

1.13 – The Lionel King

Homer and Marge are fed up with living with Abe after just one week. Homer decides to enlist the help of a real estate agent, hoping for a better chance of finding an apartment. He is shocked when the now-fired lawyer Lionel Hutz shows up for the job. Homer, who is desperate, gives Hutz a trial. After just two days of searching Hutz has found Homer and Marge the perfect apartment. On moving day, Marge is getting more and more suspicious as to why the apartment was so cheap, and decides to do some investigating. Trouble arises when Marge realises that Hutz has skipped town and is heading towards Mexico. 1
