February's
Vendor of the Month:

Dear IMA Member
With the New Year, we all seem to be
wondering what 2009 has in store for us. The
economy, a new president, our company's cash flow,
our jobs, our families.....With so many things
beyond one's control, it has made me realize
that it is probably a better option to focus on
what I can control. I would suggest that to
all of you as well. Our next IMA professional
development seminar to be held on February 25 at
Midvale is very exciting for the chapter. In
conjunction with the IIA, we have developed an
all-day program with extremely talented subject
matter experts focusing on a variety of
International Accounting topics, including IFRS,
transfer pricing, regulatory compliance,
international internal audit, data security,
international accounting best practices,
etc. Details are attached in the
newsletter. We are still finalizing details and
participants, but March's meeting is going to be
another all-day seminar, with two half-day blocks
focused on A/R best practices and A/P best
practices. This is an area of professional
development that we feel the IMA needs to target
again, as cash flow becomes more critical than
ever for companies. I would encourage members
to spread the word about the upcoming
events. The board has done an incredible job
this year, and the dedication is something that
should be commended. The stories I hear of
the juggling acts by board members to accomplish
all they have in life and still carve out a little
time for the IMA is amazing. I realize it
isn't easy, but you may want to see if being a
board member next year is in your cards, or set a
goal to go to at least two IMA events per
year. In this time of economic flux, now is
the time to put your networking hats
on! Best regards,
David Alkins Chapter
