Story Aids
This page is used for showcasing any sketches which help aid a story idea. Sometimes, a writer must use story boards to aid in the communication of their idea to others. In the task of creating a ride, the case is no different. Disney Imagineers use hundreds of sketches to outline their ride sequences before a single piece of steel is bent or any concrete is poured. This page will hold several different sketches pertaining to several different story lines for several different rides.
This is a sketch done for a ride concept currently under development. The ride is based on a western theme, and follows a water-coaster format. The concept for this vision of the ride would essentially begin in the remnants of an old mining colony which would consist of a saloon and the entrance to the mine.

This is a sketch of the area that would serve as the entrance into the ride. The structure on the right is the actual entrance into the attraction. Guests would enter into a large, two story structure which leads into the mine entrance on the second story. The saloon to the left would be a structure guests would pass through as they exit the mine/attraction. The sketch at the bottom is essentially a birds eye view of the entrance.
This is a perspective sketch of the exit to the attraction. Here, you can see that two large flat rock have been propped up by miners in order to divert the waterfall. This si done so that the exit to the mine shaft can be free and clear of any danger from the fall. Of course, you have to add some suspense for the guests by making them believe that the support structure isn't all that sturdy. So, you make one of the wood braces appear to be buckling under the weight of the rock it's support. The exit passes through the back of the saloon which appears to the left in the sketch above (nice marketing ply, isn't it).
