Fall / Winter
2005-2006
Interpreted by Cathy Toney

My vision for Fall / Winter 2005-06is hair that very textured OR solid, opposite in feeling, and reminiscent of the late 60's or early 70's.  The layered looks of the 60's are more shaggy and textured for 2005-06 and the shapes are more extreme.  However, assymetrical lines fashionable in the 80's are mixed in with these strong, angular shapes of the 70's.  Hair cut designs are also displaying disconnected perimeters and interiors.

Hair color is playing a big role in emphasising these new shapes with panels of color added to one area to emphasize the cut.   As always haircolor is vibrant and shiny, but now more solid color with panels intermixed.  Blended highlights are not part of the fashion scene.  Warm jewel and earth tones finish the new trends.  Also for the daring personality and young or young at heart, color tones have "peek-a-boos" of unnatural hair colors like pink, red, blue, orange, purple etc...

Styles for this season are versatile.  Enhance  looks with styling products and tools.  Remember, movement is in for textured hair, but sleek is also very fashionable.  Look for new products that control busy hair and slim the hair cuticle down for added smoothmess.

The side part is in...the center part is out!  Bangs are blunt and wide across the foreheard or they can be textured an angled to frame the face.   Go for the pixie, wedge, bob, shag or mussy waves with an '05-'06  influence.

comiComing soon...be sure to look for Bars in the salon -- "Color Bars" that is.  The new rage in progressive salons is The Color Bar.  The idea is to be able to formulate, mix, and apply color in one area of the salon where the client can actually see the whole entire process.  This is creating excitement and more interest in hair color service.  This concept is coming soon at Damon's Design Team .
