| Hunter Valley Show Jumping Day Today the tables turned and I was able to compete. A last minute decision saw both Smivers "and" Matey loaded onto the float. On arrival I was asked by a friend to ride both of his thoroughbreds (Quincoy and Giaffe). Giaffe (17.2hh+) placed third at last years hack of the year, and due to injury resulting in scarring, his career as a hack horse was cut short. Today his Show Jumping career began and he successfully made his way over the 80 and 95cm classes. Quincoy's recent retirement from the race track and love for jumping also saw him in the money. He placed 2nd to my other horse, Smivers, in the 95cm class. As mentioned above..Smivers won the 95cm class, competing against 30+horses. He also competed in the 1.05m event where he was just beaten against the clock by 0.2seconds finishing 2nd. Matey was rather obedient today and placed 2nd in the 80cm class. *Photos from this event will be made available soon |
