"She
was out of reach/ Her heart so hard to teach..."
Question
Can a day pass without seeing the night?
To forget the dark and enjoy the sight?
Can a lightning strike without hearing it roar?
To hear no thunder as we see it soar?
Can a candle endure the flame as it gives off light?
To withstand the same fire that brightens it up and shortens it life?
Can we not appreciate the thread that holds the kite at ease?
To hail them together and not as a separate piece?
Can we not love someone we knew as a friend?
To give it a shot and see where it ends?
Can we not tell which is hard and which is not?
To hold on to nothing or to just give it up?
Ask not, ask not or receive only my doubts.
Why give way to the night that reminds only grief?
If daylight uplifts spirits, sending blues to drift?
Why let night bring back the tears I cried?
If daylight can somehow mend my shattered pride?
Why can’t lightning flash without roaring so loud,
If we already knew the upcoming rage of the hazy clouds?
Instead, why not let the breaking of a heart be so audible,
If no ones knows the fate of a man inconsolable?
Many hail the kite as they gaze its flight
And yet not see the thread that holds it tight;
Like, why appreciate only the things I’ve done?
And not the man who I truly am?
I wonder how a candle feels as they lit up its wick
Of what the flames for- to be useful and yet to be weak?
The same question as to why she exist in my life,
To bring me joy or to push me far to strife?
Why do we always weigh friendship and love? Why is it hard to
choose which one to lose and which one to have? Do we not value
friendship if it turns into love? Can we not love a friend if it's
her we want to have?
Funny on how desperate we became to hold
onto something Not wanting to give up but the pain is unnerving And
when we let go, the pain is gone and we are free, But only to find
out that our hands are empty...
Yes, the risks are high yet the
stakes are low, Chances are small yet the emotions still flow; I
hate to say this, but the simple man starts to doubt, "Should I
still pursue her or find my way out?"
