My Great Great Grandmother on my Mother's side was full Blackfoot Native American and lived in the Missouri tribe. My other Great-x-3 Grandmother was full Souix Native American. I don't know much more then that at this point because the family tree (which is an heirloom) hasn't been passed down to me as of yet. Even when I've tried looking on my own it has taken A LOT of time and effort to basically get no where.
But, I have passed on more Native American blood to my kids. I met a wonderful 1/4 Penobscot Nation (Maine) man back in high school. We've been together ever since. In true Native American spirit we gave part of our kids Native American names to them directly:
Raven Moon & Andrew Storm
Raven was born at 9:20 p.m. on a full moon and had a full head of black hair. Her name was already throught of before her birth BTW!
Same with my son; He was born right in the middle of a big thunderstorm at 7:15 p.m.
Could be coinsidence, but I truly think other "forces" were involved.
As far as our beliefs, they do not go by the inherited Christain ways brought upon by the settlers. Insead we are more atune to "Mother Earth", Nature, and Neopaganism.
I can't think of what more to say right at this point, but I will add more when I get more resources resolved.
