NOTE: Please use your own words when answering the questions. Do NOT copy and paste my words. Copied and pasted answers will be marked as wrong.

For the following questions, please refer to drawings A and B below:

A.

B.

1. What is the layout called in picture A? (5 hp)

It is the Seven-rune layout.

2. What is the layout called in picture B? (5 hp)

It is the Five-rune layout.

3. Name what the numbered runes signify in the layout in picture A. (5 hp)

The first two runes, one and two, signify the problem.
Runes three and four signify the past factors that led up the the situation at present.
Runes five and six are the most important runes in the runecast because they represent the advise the runes give you. You must take care to interpret their readings as they relate to one another. They can show a need to act or wait or act immediately. They can show a shift of emphasis not related to the problem in question.
Rune seven is the result rune. A positive or negative rune here will only indicate a positive or negative result if the other runes in this layout show that outcome.

4. Explain how you would do a reading for layout A. (5 hp)

To do a reading for this layout, you would prepare like the other methods of runecasting by laying out a white cloth. You would concentrate on a question. It doesn't have to be a question requiring a yes or no answer. It can be a question like, 'how will my career progress if I take this college course?'. You can concentrate on a timeframe, such as three months from now or sooner like a week or days from now. Next you would draw out your seven runes, one at a time, and place them in a row of six then place the seventh rune below the row and centered under the third and fourth runes.
The runes are next read two at a time as follows:
The first two runes, one and two are read first.
Runes three and four are read next.
Next are read runes five and six.
Rune seven is read last.

5. For the layout in picture B, name what the numbered runes signify. (3hp)

Your past, present, and future are represented by the three runes that are horizontal; numbers one, two, and five.
Rune number 1, the one in the center. This rune is your present and shows your problem as it is now. It can also show your state of mind. An upside-down (negative) rune in this position that does not seem to be in synch with your question could mean you are agitated or very troubled.
Number 2: Tells you what in the past caused your current situation.
Number 3: Indicates the assistance you will receive for the problem at hand. If a negative rune is drawn here, it can mean delays occuring to prevent solving the problem or your unwillingness to accept advice either from another person or the runes.
Number 4: Indicates a problem's aspects that cannot be changed and must be accepted. A right side up or positive rune means lack of oppositions. An upside down or negative rune shows the obstacles to your success.
Number 5: This is the result rune and shows the final outcome depending on the other four runes in the reading.

6. Explain how you would do a reading for the layout in picture B. (2hp)
To do a reading of this method, you would first lay out your white cloth as usual. Next you would concentrate on a question.
Next, one at a time, you would lay out five runes face-down on the cloth - three runes placed side by side, one rune is placed above the center rune, and one is placed below the center. Your past, present, and future are represented by the three runes that are horizontal; numbers one, two, and five.
First you would turn over rune number one, the one in the center. This rune is your present and shows your problem as it is now. It can also show your state of mind. An upside-down (negative) rune in this position that does not seem to be in synch with your question could mean you are agitated or very troubled.
The rune in the number two position is turned over and read next. It tells you what in the past caused your current situation.
Number three is read next and indicates the assistance you will receive for the problem at hand. If a negative rune is drawn here, it can mean delays occuring to prevent solving the problem or your unwillingness to accept advice either from another person or the runes.
The fourth rune is read next. Number four indicates a problem's aspects that cannot be changed and must be accepted. A right side up or positive rune means lack of oppositions. An upside down or negative rune shows the obstacles to your success.
Read last is rune number five. This is the result rune and shows the final outcome depending on the other four runes in the reading.
