![]() After the students had taken their seats and got out their supplies for class, Professor Rose asked them to open their textbooks to chapter 37. "We are now talking about the next Complex Runecasting method. To try to make it less confusing, I will be teaching you each of the three parts of this method separately at three separate lessons. It may seem confusing at first, but I think once we have talked about each part separately, it won't be that way", Rose smiled as the class giggled. "This method is called the Airts and the Eight-fold Wheel. Airts are also known as AEtts which we have talked about in this class as we learned about each of the runes. This method is in three parts because this method contains three wheels that are read. Each wheel is called an Eight-fold wheel. Can anyone tell me why this method is called the Eight-fold wheel?", Rose asked as she glanced around the room. "Annelicca?", she called on a young Gryffindor. "Yes", Annelicca replied, "This layout is drawn out like a wheel. Each section of the wheel is divided into eight sections. The sections contain the eight runes of each of the three AEtt. For this section, they contain the runes of the Freya's Airt or AEtt". "Very good, Annelicca!", Rose smiled, "Five points to Gryffindor!" "Here is what our first wheel looks like", Rose said as she waved her wand. The following image appeared on the board: ![]() "This first Airt or Aett of Freya is for doing a reading for practical matters", Rose explained,"Can anyone explain how they would do a reading for this wheel?" Rose pointed toward a young Hufflepuff, "Maddy?" Maddy looked up surprised as she was in the midst of doing her nails, "What?". "MADDY!", Rose yelled, "You do that on your own time. Now, shall I repeat the question?" "No, Ma'am", Maddy replied, "I will try to answer it". She glanced at her textbook for a moment, "Doing a reading for this is different than the others. The rune symbols on the layout tell you what the reading for that rune on that part of the wheel is for. You would draw eight runes randomly one by one sight unseen and place them in the wheel next to the runes already there. These meanings are very simple and on the most basic level serve as the background for a strait forward reading, in which questions of a practical nature can be answered". "Can you give us an example, Maddy?" Maddy approached the board and pointed at the wheel drawing, "For example, let's say one of the runes you put was the Ehwaz rune next to the Uruz rune drawn on the layout. The Ehwaz rune could mean adaptability and cooperation. The Uruz rune on the drawing means health matters. You can possibly conclude that whatever health matters you have could have a good outcome due to adapting from medication, while the cooperation could be from the medication or treatment or doctors". "Excellent, Maddy!", Rose smiled, "Five points to Hufflepuff. However, stay after class for detention". Maddy nodded. "The eight symbols in this wheel are of the eight runes in the AEtt of Freya", Rose explained, "As part of your homework, I would like you to name those eight runes and what they mean". All too soon the bell rang. With a wave of her wand, Professor Rose gave the students their homework parchments. The students gathered their belongings and proceeded to their next class, except for Maddy of Hufflepuff, who stopped by Professor Rose's desk for her detention. Featured in this lesson were: brunette_chicks_rule (Annelicce) of Gryffindor soccerchika101 (Maddy) of Hufflepuff who had requested to be featured in the lessons. If you would like to be in a future lesson neomail me with the name you wish me to call you in class and how you would act in my class. Also, if you would like to be in more than one lesson let me know that as well. Thank you. If you have recently submitted your request to be in a future lesson, but haven't seen yourself yet, you'll be in the next lesson. HOMEWORK: 1. What Runecasting method did we talk about today?
