| Darius made a surprise phone call to Lorraine Kelly, live on her show on Sky 1. Here is the transcript of that conversation - Lorraine: Cheeky monkeys! How are you flower? Darius: I'm very well. I think I've got withdrawal symptoms since I've been on the show last time. Lorraine: Oh you know you can come back, it's like David Beckham on Coronation Street, you can come back on this sofa any time you want to. Darius: Really? *laughs* Lorraine: Listen, what are you up to, because I know you have big shows coming up and everything, what's happening? Darius: I know we've got a really . line up; me, Will and Gareth and the final 10 doing the tour in Britain, starting I think in Wembley and going all the way up and down the country. We're going to be at the SECC in our home town, Lorraine. Lorraine: Wonderful. Darius: And then after than I'm going to be releasing my own music in the very immediate future. Lorraine: Good. Darius: So I've got lots of exciting meetings about that this week, and I was hoping that when I've got an announcement to make, I can come and serenade you on the couch. Lorraine: You can come and serenade me any time you want to, ANY time you want to. It's really, really good to hear from you. There's so much going on for all of you, it's fantastic. *turns to Ben* The thing about Darius is, what I think is different from anybody, is the fact that he does write his own stuff. Don't you? You've got your own style. Darius: I do. I do write my own stuff and I've got lots of exciting doors that are open for me right now. Simon Cowell has been very, very flattering and has been singing my praises and has guaranteed that I'll have my triple platinum album. *all laugh* So I'm very, very excited, I'm hoping to share that excitement with you whenever I can come back. Lorraine: We can share excitement together. Ben: Darius, Lorraine's actually got a really good voice . Lorraine: Oh please, no I don't. Ben: so maybe we could organise a duet, Renee & Renato-esque. *Lorraine laughs* Darius: Well, you know, I said to Victoria Beckham whenever she was, you know, in Glasgow last time, she should have duetted with you and not Robbie Craig and she would have had that number one by now. Lorraine: *laughs* That would have been that! Ben: She wouldn't have been dropped! *Darius laughs* Lorraine: So you're all sorted. Are you signed to anybody, has anybody got you yet, or are you still going through offers and things? Darius: No, I've got, um, I've got a contract with Mr Cowell at BMG, and 19 Management are looking after me. Lorraine: Fantastic. Well that's good, and he's much nicer to you now? Darius: He's a lovely man. Lorraine: He's a lovely man, well we like him now. We won't be so horrible about him anymore. *Darius laughs* Ben: Darius, what's happening on Saturday with this Pop Idol special, because we're not getting many details, but what do you know that you can tell us? Darius: Well, all I can reveal is that we're all getting back together. Um, from my camp at least there's going to be a bit of hip shaking, so Lorraine you'd better be tuned in 'cause I think I'm going to perform one of the songs you'll like *Lorraine giggles*, and we're all getting together tomorrow actually to record it, and it's going out on Saturday, it'll be a fantastic show. Lorraine: I shall be watching that. Ben: I bet you will! Lorraine: And freeze framing it, many times! *all laugh* Darius, it's so lovely to talk to you, you're an angel. Darius: Lorraine, my pleasure. Lorraine: Thank you, I'll see you really soon I hope. Thank you very much. Darius: See you soon, bye bye. |
