| IT'S one small step for a wannabe actor but a giant leap for Darius - the Pop Idol star is to appear in Hollyoaks singing his new single, Girl In The Moon. The 22-year-old singer, who plays himself in the hit soap, had a ball between takes with the young, sexy and single leading ladies. In the storyline, Darius serenades some of the teen soap's regulars, including Izzy (Elize du Toit), Becca (Ali Bastian), Adam (David Brown) and Tony (Nick Pickard). And the Glasgow hunk did such a good job that Hollyoaks could even ask him back for good. A show insider said: "He was a natural. He really enjoyed it and a lot of the cast followed Pop Idol, so it was good for them to see him in the flesh. "We would definitely have him back if and when the opportunity arises. "Would we look at him for a starring role? Anything is possible in soap, isn't it? Never say never." In the episode, Darius performs his new single at the Hollyoaks Community College graduation ball. He has to convince some of the regulars that it really is him, especially his No1 fan, Tony. The episode will be screened on Channel 4 on July 4 and repeated as part of the omnibus show on July 6.
