South Park is the work of Matt Stone and Trey Parker, friends who met while studying at college.
Definately not for the feint hearted, the show is centered around the lives of four 8 year old boys, who live in a small town in the middle of nowhere. It follows them in and out of trouble and has a strong and blunt approach to current events, politics and the views and perceptions of people today. It has been known to tackle some very taboo subjects like racism, Sadam Hussein, 9/11 conspiracies, child molestation, homophobia and most recently Scientology and even creating a Steve Irwin character (who tragically lost his life back in September 2006).
The show is also know for its frequent use of 'toilet humor' with characters such as Mr.Hankey (the Christmas Poo) or Terrance and Philip (two canadians who like to fart on each other). The show also contains a high frequency of swear words. In the episode 'It Hits the Fan' the word shit is said 162 times, in fact breaking a world record!
Despite all this there are many many loyal fans of the show, who tune in every week to see what outrageous stuff the team at South Park Studios can come up with next!
The show has been comissioned for another two series with the option to continue after that.
Season 11 is due back on screens in March 2007 so keep watching for more crazy action!
