The 1st Annual Photo Contest Fundraiser was a great success.
Thank you to all who participated in the contest. The creativity and skill of the photographers was inspiring. They certainly showed the beauty of Illinois.
A panel of 3 independent judges from various disciplines (photo club-Mr. J.P, professor-Dr. HC and nature expert-MV) reviewed the photos. The photos were judged on technical merit (composition, sharpness, color), appropriateness to category and presentation (neatness of mounting). Scores were added up and winners were declared:
Tom Lowden for “Hummingbird Moth” Grand Prize Winner -Binoculars
Eddy Zgonina for “Doorway” 2nd place $50 gift card + ribbon
Chris C. (age 9) for “Vole on Bog” 3rd place in each category- Bird House + ribbon
Donna Thomas for “October Maples” Honorable mention
