| The demo was first inspired about two weeks after the band was created. The title 'someone up there must hate me' came from a little conversation between Charlie and Jonny, which you will find out about if you click on the 'Aboutus' section on the homepage. As of yet we haven't recored or played the demo in front of anyone. Fact is we haven't even had a gig yet, because we need to gel a bit more and get used to our own music, but we'll keep you posted nonetheless. So, after the demo was titled, Jonny went home to write the first song 'someone up there must hate me'. The original copy was very pleasing, but obvioulsy everyone in the band wanted to make their own changes so after a few days the final set of lyrics were written. The song will be availible for viewing in the 'lyrics' section shortly, meanwhile there our a few other tracks availible for reading. We decided that we would have to make roughly around 12 tracks for the demo, and it turned out that 11 songs including a couple of skits were finally decided on. Charlie then went home to write 'Goodbye' 'The fool who had it all' and 'Fools Gold.' Please note that these three songs are not fully completed and can be altered at any time, but we'll keep you informed. The theme of the demo can be seen differently whatever way you look at it. In our eyes, it's an intellegent, thoughtful and lyrically important demo. Even though the songs may have to be heard a few times to get across. The songs so far have been very slow depressing but caring songs but we aren't trying to make an demo which will make you cry or suddenly turn you white while you're laughing away down the pub. Our own personal aim for the demo is to get a point across, bearing in mind that each band member most probably think differently. The point we think it gets across (or tries to, anyway) is that 'life is beyond living.' Nah, I don't get it either. So, the subject of the design has to be dealt with. Luckily for us, Charlie is a very talented artist, so the design was left to him. He designed an okay cover, which was the four of our heads in gorillaz style cartoons and the whole band performing on the back. But, we're having second thoughts on it and we'll be discussing a new design shortly. As soon as it's finished, we'll put it up so you can view it. Also, when the demo is completed (our target is around this time 2004) we will be handing it out for free to anyone who wants one and then at a later date selling them online for about 5-10 quid on CD or about 3 on tape. We'll also add audio clips onto the discography section and make a few limited edition mini discs which'll go for about 10. Just log on once in a while and keep us in your favourites. Cheers. Peace. Respect. Rock on. -Tree house |
