Zeus was our first Toy Fox Terrier.  We got him at 6 weeks old because his mom rejected her pups and actually stepped on one of them and broke it's little leg.  This was much too young to take him but we felt the alternative with us was better for his health.  He was therefore treated very special and doted over as a little one who needed extra special loving and attention.  I don't think his little feet hit the ground longer than it took for him to go "t-t" for the first two weeks we had him!  We would wrap him in a blankey like a baby...that's why he loves being covered by his blankey even now!...mmmmm, nice and secure!

We were told that he looked good enough to show, so...we showed him in the Novice Puppy Class at the UKC Show in Wapakoneta, Ohio right before he turned 6 months old.  He won "Best Male Puppy" for Ohio and won third place puppy for the National Toy Fox Terrier Association.  We proudly display his ribbons, but that was the end of his career.  He had a cryptorchid (undescended testicle) and ended up with prostate problems...out they came, effectively cutting short his show dog career!  Zeus probably experienced the shortest UKC career for any dog!

As he grew up, he learned he ruled the roost and we ended up having to do some behavior modification to re-establish our "alpha dog" status!  His position was not given up lightly!
