February 3rd was Amy's birthday, so Nicki threw a surprise party for her- complete with decorations, pizza, and an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen (which Kailey got for free because she flirted with the guy who works there!) After the party, we (a group of 20 people) went cosmic bowling. It was a lot of fun because there were so many of us- and you get to wear cool neon yellow and orange bowling shoes!
On Friday the 4th, I went to my two classes, then went to the union with James, Justin, Kara, Megan, and Tiffany to get some ice cream. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and I went there without a coat on! After Kyle was done with work, the two of us went out to dinner (Friday night fish fry) at Krolls. It was pretty good- maybe not quite as good as The Hide-away, but it was still pretty darn good.
On Saturday, Kyle and I drove up to Sturgeon Bay for the heck of it! We drove around, walked around a little, and ate dinner at a really cool looking Applebees. When we got back to the dorms, a bunch of people were out in the hallway putting together a 1,500 piece puzzle of a crossward puzzle (which meant all of the pieces were black and white) so we helped them work on that for a while. Later on, eight of us went to Country Kitchen. Then we went to WalMart to waste some more time. Kara bought a sled so she could ride down the stairs in it! The previous weekend, a bunch of people stayed up late and rode laundry baskets and plastic containers down the stairs. Dan decorated a plastic tub all fancy- then ended up putting his foot through it when he got to the end of the stairs! |

On Sunday the 13th, I went to see The Lord of the Dance at the Weidner Center with Rebecca, Beth, and Meg. We got student rush tickets for $10- if we would have had to pay the actual amount for the seats we were sitting in, it would have cost about $40- so that's a pretty good deal! The show was good- but not at all what I was expecting. I was thinking it would be like Riverdance with very traditional costumes and music- but it wasn't. Instead, they tried to make the celtic dancing kind of sexy- which wasn't working for me- it just made me laugh! At one point, the girls were wearing fairly traditional dresses, then whipped them off and had on little black velvet bras and hotpants on underneath! The show was very flashy and had lots of crazy lighting and costume changes. One costume change that was kind of cool was when the cast came out in bright neon colors that seemed to glow on stage. |
