| Alex's (John Ritter) wife of 11 years, Karen was killed in a plane crash 6 months prior. He is having trouble getting over the loss and he realizes that his son is dealing with her death better than himself. His mother-in-law tries to encourage him to take a break, and to see other women, but he refuses. He finally decides to join a therapy group to help him "let go" of Karen's death. Everyone in the group introduces themselves and shares their reasons for joining the group. Alex is seated next to a woman named Kate (Sharon Gless), who is in the therapy group because her live-in boyfriend left her for someone else. The two become partners later on in the group as well as good friends. The activities and steps in the program help them both to �let go� of the person they are trying to get over. |
