What You Missed

No matter how much I deny those feelings,
The consequences of admiration hurt the same.
Although I'm not over my stupididy yet,
I know I need to get over you.
As you remain something I can't have,
I will want you even more in return.
With all the men on this planet,
My heart had to pick one that makes it ache.
So much courage, so much pride,
All I got is "we're just friends".
A woman magnet is what you are,
Demagnetizing them without a clue.
Their hearts are stripped of hope for you
And left in place is hate for men.
My heart did break when you said friends.
And now it aches when you're in view.
I know you're great and truly sweet,
But in your heart, I know you're scared.
I know that I'm too good for you,
And someday you might see that, too.
