Sir Percival sprinted forward, feinting to the left at the last moment, a deep throated laugh escaping his lips. “Child’s play!” he yelled into the foray, then grinned as an unwary footsoldier moved into view just ahead.

The soldier’s eyes widened as he turned and saw the huge knight moving toward him, wielding his broadsword like an axe. That was the only reaction he had time for, as an instant later, Percival was on top of him. He made a weak attempt at defending himself, but was easily overcome. Within seconds, Percival had assumed the soldier’s position on the field and was looking for his next victim.

At the back of the field, Percival could see the King’s advisor, the Archbishop Fouinon, looking around worriedly. The King, however, was nowhere to be seen. “Probably hiding behind the siege tower.” Percival thought. “Just like him, coward.”

Bringing his attention back to the battle raging around him, Percival saw one of his men go down. He couldn’t tell from here who it was, but knew from the white armor that he was not a foe. Enraged, he turned and rushed towards the nearest figure he could find that was wearing black. The unlucky soldier didn’t have a chance.

Suddenly, Percival spied Fouinon slipping past one of his men on the other side of the field. “Brennus!” he yelled. His compatriot turned, saw Fouinon and rounded on him, yelling for a foot soldier to block him. The soldier stepped forward, placing himself between Fouinon and King Ahearn. Fouinon’s eyes widened as he saw Brennus beside him and he fled in the opposite direction.

Percival directed his attention back to his side of the field. Next to him, the siege tower was being moved into the enemy’s territory. He could hear Brennus yelling to one of his men, who moved quickly out of the way. Then, there it was. His opening. He could see the king. Percival shot forward, placing himself just before the king, out of Fouinon’s reach.

The King looked around, his eyes widening as he realized that there were white soldiers all around him. He was finished and he knew it, collapsing in surrender. Percival grinned and shouted in victory, signaling to Brennus that it was over. They had won!
