Farewell Dinner in Honor of Batch 10

Textile Participants’ Working Committee and the Participants’ Development and Placement Department (PD&P) at the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) held a farewell dinner in honor of the graduating class (Batch 10) of the BSc. (Hons.) Textile Technology and Management at a local hotel on May 15th, 2002.
The chief guest of the night was Mr. Ibrahim Khurram, Chairman and CEO of Comfort Knitwear (Pvt.) Ltd. Rector, Dr. Hassan Sohaib Murad; Advisor Textile Degree Programs, Mr. Akhtar Zia; General Manager PD&P, Mr. Rana Iftikhar; and Registrar, Mr. Zaidi were among the distinguished guests. The occasion was graced by several noted personalities from the industry as well as the participants of the degree program at ILM. Those from the industry represented Comfort Knitwear, Angora Textile, Ammar Textiles, Highnoon Textiles, Lawrencepur, Ifran Textile, Mubarak Textile Mills, Combined Fabrics, Nishat Mills, Libaas Textiles, Klass Textiles, Shahkam Group, Gulistan Group, Simag, Six Sigma, Levi Strauss, Matrix Sourcing, Platinum Sourcing, DS Sourcing and many others.
Zeeshan Aleem, from Batch 13, was assigned the duty of the stage secretary. Saood Qaseem, alumni of Batch 8, formally started the function with the recitation from the Holy Quran. Then the stage secretary welcomed the honorable guests to the glorious event. He also presented a heartfelt farewell poem, which was dedicated to the outgoing participants of Batch 10.
Next, the significance of the textile industry to the country’s economy and how ILM’s textile degree program is catering to the needs of the ever-competitive market was highlighted in front of the gathering.
Mr. Mushtaq Mangat, senior resource person of the faculty and coordinator ILM Textile Participants’ Working Committee, presented a well-structured overview of ILM’s textile degree program with major emphasis on the resources which impart a cutting-edge to the institute over others. He also mentioned various teaching methodologies and techniques being unique at ILM.
Ahsan Navid, from Batch 12, delivered the farewell speech on behalf of all the junior participants. He expressed a note of sadness while saying goodbye to his senior friends but at the same time wished them a prosperous professional life.
From the outgoing participants, Ahsan Shafiq and Nauman Shaukat shared fond memories and thanked everyone associated with them during their stay at ILM.
Rector, Dr. Hassan Sohaib Murad while addressing the gathering emphasized on the need of acquiring quality professional education to excel in today’s ever-competitive environment. He also gave an insight on the institute’s future plans to start a graduate program in textiles.
The Rector and the Chief Guest presented shields to the outgoing participants. A souvenir was presented to Mr. Ibrahim Khurram by the Rector.
The Chief Guest also expressed his views on this occasion. He showed satisfaction over ILM’s textile degree programs and informed those present there about the current world market scenario.
After students’ group photo sessions with the faculty and the Chief Guest, the guests enjoyed a sumptuous dinner. It was truly a memorable night for all present.
