Common name: African Elephant
(Loxodonta africana )
Status: Threatened
The adult African Elephan, as the largest land mammal on Earth, has only poachers and ivory buyers for predators.
Due primarily to poaching for an older elephant's ivory tusks, these beautiful and intelligent creatures' may be killed for use as a billiard ball, or a piano key.
Orphaned elephants have a poor survival rate, and the herd relies on it's senior members for direction. Because the elders are often targeted for their large tusks, a whole herd may be thrown into turmoil by the slaughter of one animal..

Common name: Chimpanzee
(Pan troglodytes)
Status: Endangered
The Chimpanze and Bonobo share approximately 98.4% of the same genes as Homo Sapien -humans- and yet it struggles to share in our prolific nature.
Chimpanze numbers are degrading for a number of reasons. Consumption of their flesh, or the Bushmeat trade, is taking a sharp toll. Habitat destruction and degradation are also contributing to the Chimpanzee's Endangered status.

The Sumatran Orangutan is considered Critically Endangered on the CITES list for a few simple reasons.
