ABSTRACT
Transition is an important element in continuity of shots and smoothing the sequences of the movie. But in the fantasy animation, transitions would allow the styles of joining shots to be more alternatives with imagination, fancy and illusion to the animation.
This thesis will focus on creating creative transition effects in animation that emphasis fantastic and continuously flowing sequences in animation and relationships of shots between the scenes in way that correspond to storytelling. The transition seems a comic fantastic style, a rapid left/right pan or rotate of the camera by apply with abstract and artistic elements. In the transitions will involve the effective composition's principles to make it interesting and in which scenes will be photographed to express the establishing dynamic and psychological effect in the fantasy animation. Composition also the visual art of storytelling on screen in single frame or footage, it provides the understood and allows the viewers perceive the messages and issues that reflect from arrangement of sets, camera position, camera movement and staging in the scenes.

THESIS ISSUES
An editing without suitable transition, structure planning and continuity of shots can damage the movie of even the finest director or good story. Besides, the good understand of composition also very important to enhance the storytelling to the audience in the movie. Creating of effective transition with applying composition's principles and techniques to suit the animation's style such as fantasy would catch the attention of the audiences from the flow of sequences and rhythm of the story in the animation.

Transition effects will gives sense of strange, weird and imagination to the audiences in fantasy animation. Together with the good composition, the transitions would be more effective to affects the audience's mind to the world of imagination and fantasy.
